shouldnt it be 2 different people??

and dont you think maybe a minister of security should be a tough person. not someone the community calls 'mother'??

I mean, dealing with tough circumstances as we are in nassau .....

[QUOTE=Rory]shouldnt it be 2 different people??

the police, defence force and other law enforcement personnel need to be "tough" people; not the minister

the minister's job is to develop policy and ensure that it is carried out, not apprehend criminals or scare them

generally, this is a distinction that i believe has become blurred over the years to our detriment, the separation between the policy and administrative arms of gov't

Why should the minister be tough to do that job ? ? ?

Makes no sense.

All they do anyway is sit and sometimes look good but there is no need for them to be tough because there job is not tough period.

You just dont get it, The post of being a minister if just political, everyone below the minister does real work( In most cases). All they really do is sign of on what the PS or consultans say or what someone else says.

"They need to make tough decisions" - Like what give me an example of a tough decisions because it makes no sense.

And they get paid how much to do nothing of any importance and make no decisions...

ok someone needs to fire their consultants as things arent being done right.

That's Politics My Friend, that’s why anyone who puts there hope in any of them are bound to be hopeless.

When you have someone greater to depend on, Local affairs become meaningless because you know like God says they will fail. Don’t expect much, that’s what I have come to terms with.

tough decisions like curfews for the black kids and maybe roadblocks and banning the darker skinned people from certain areas of nassau after sundown maybe???? huh rory
maybe house to house searches in the overhill areas for guns and drugs. got to keep those people in line eh rory!!

tough decisions like a programme to sterilise those people having all those kids what u think rory?

(sarcasm for those ready to jump all over me)

PLEASE someone give a constructive idea instead of getting personal all the time with our politicians. if you want the system changed, then change it
there are ways, if our politicians hear a loud enough clamour for reform, they will respond

of course it is easier to sit behind a keyboard and gripe instaed of contributing to the solution for crime or any other problem

how many of us volunteer our time to any organisation to try and assist our youth or the disadvantaged in our community? it is far easier to sit there and bash the government and church

it is soooo tiresome!!!

let's get with it people, we the people are the government and the church the problem is us

two words

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
