The most telling thing about all of this is that the government did commission the (Sean) McWeeny report about the judiciary. Justice Lyons said that the report was not properly constituted because it was appointed by the Christie government, rather than the Governor General who is supposed to be a layer of abstraction from the political process. Hence it was Justice Lyons assertion that there was no separation or independence of the judiciary.

While Maynard Gibson denied this, she hastily appointed a commission to review the recompense of the judiciary, and the commission was granted it's royal charter from the Governor General on November the 10th. Among the commissioners are the governor of the Central Bank.

The telling point is, if Justice Lyons is wrong, and Maynard Gibson is right, then why did Maynard Gibson appoint such a commission as Justice Lyons suggested that was remiss.

The interesting part is that Maynard Gibson said that she would not fight this battle in the courts of public opinion, but did just that. She has still yet to appeal, but hastily convened a commission to satisfy Justice Lyons ruling, and had it signed sealed and delivered by the GG -AD Hanna to make it legal.

If Justice Lyon is so wrong, why did Maynard Gibson do exactly what Justice Lyons said should have been done in 2003 AND 2006?

The government has just filed its appeal. Today was the deadline...and they filed hours after Lyons urged the government to file its appeal.

Now tell me why the government waited till literally the 11th hour to file, and why did Lyons have to make his ruling on the failure to file an appeal before they decided to scurry to the Supreme Court? **shakes head**

Minister Gibson's illogical and stupid statesment in parliament is unbecoming of an Attorney General. How in the world can a Barrister, not to speak of the chief defender of the Judiciary say that the learn judge has misled the Bahamian public? She must have lost her damn mind.

How can a judge's judgement be misleading? She know quite well until an appeal is made on the judges Ruling and that ruling is overturn that judge's ruling is law. Is there anybody in the PLP who has not lost their damn mind! Unbelievable!!

So let's analyse this shall we...
We all know the govenor general performs his duties base on the recommendation of the prime minister and at times after consultation with the opposition leader. That being said, that bull crap suggesting the govenor general suppose to be "a layer of abstraction from the political process" makes no sense. Its a plp govenor general....typically, its like here sign this and lets move on...what his judge talking about...

Actually, I blame the weak opposition...clearly they do not deserve to be the government of this country. As it seems as if they too are lost without direction. It seems as if our country is rudderless. There is no captain, no first mate, no engineer. All we have is an entertainment section: a band of merrymen playing their last tune as they ship goes down.
