adidasboi987 11-28-06, - 11:21 AM Why didnt the contestants complain during the pageant???....If all the contestants were shouted at doesnt that mean that the winner was shouted at also....Sounds like you are more concerned/upset with the OUTCOME of the pageant rather than what happened leading up to it....Honey let me tell you like this....."the scores are the scores...are the scores......get over it move on and hopefully gain something from it....there is more to life than pageants, makeup and hair (:dgi: hold up wait a minute maybe not:cutie: ) Goddamit u get my point:taped2: :sparky: LOL
missteensup 11-28-06, - 11:23 AM Miss Teen Bahamaas Program should continue NOT the competition that part is deeply flawed.
So i agree u should concentrate on improving it, inorder to do that u must first stop it.
I do disagree that no one can stop the pagaent part of it. U need to stop that part yourself before next year u have protesters at your program therefore hindering that part also.
So make a choice the pagaent part or the entire program. Discuss it with the committe members and let us know.
It is your wish not to call names but that night u did and unfortunately all the parents was made aware of it.
My details are not to irrate anyone into violence but to voice their concern. Names or no names this will continue on if the committee does not step forward and do what is right for "Maintaing a strong commitment to assist with the development of our young bahamian women and postively influence their lives" IT THAT NOT THE MISSION STATEMENT OF MISS TEEN BAHAMAS PROGRAM.
only time will tell.....

Unfortunately, when the contestant did speak about it they were pushed aside, so the parents became involved. Concern is for the entire process leading up to, during and after the event. IT only takes a spark and i intend to help these girls to express their feelings which are of outmost importance. All of were and are WINNERS in my book this is just a chapter in growth. LMAO :bouncy: as for the winner at least she got some compensation for the trouble.lol

i hear ya,,,go full force girl
Cindy Thompson 11-28-06, - 12:10 PM I'am sure all of those girls gained atleast 1 possitive thing from that pagent even if it was only a new friend. This is not something that you suppose to go into with only the intention of winning but with the intention of learning new things and meeting new people the girls I'am sure learned at least 1 thing and made atleast one friend. I would like to hear how a contestant feels about this where you in the pagent? Maybe contestants complained about the program b4 i entered the room at the presentation party but i dont remeber any contestants complaining about not gaining anything from the program. I do remember a lovely poem from Khia Ambristor who said lovely things about each contestant.
Anyways seems like you just stuck on doin what you doin so go ahead and do dear. We'll see what happens next year WHEN The Miss Teen Bahamas Program IS held. please do come!

They did gain a friend, once again let me SAY the program is fine.
The COMPETITION PART IS NOT.
They also gain the experience of being betrayed and unprofessionalism.
It seems as if inorder to have a program u must have a competition at the end. IS this the case? Do you not feel u will get the recognition needed without the pagaent?
Ms. Keia Armbrister did read a lovely poem about each contestants, this purpose of this poem was to inspire the girls to continue in their journey.
Despite of the outcome of the competition.
YES I AM HELD BEND ON THIS!!!
I am a contestant, I am a parent, I am a sponsor and I WAS a future participant.
 SO SEE YA NEXT YEAR!!

But the pageant is un-productive. It is going to be shrouded in controversy and hypocritical foolishness.
This is the same pageant-my God it's been a whole year-that had the lesbian winner go on a national bent for homosexual rights.
Nah Cindy...the negative far outweigh the positive!
Would you swin in a toxic waste pool, to get a breif case of 1 million dollars?
No you would not. So, why would good decent people, go into a pageant, where they will be mis-treated and come out hating the system?
Tell you Mom the pageant sucks...the judges that are involved sucks and anyone who wins it, is highly suspect.

Cindy Thompson died of cancer in 2001, and yes it is the same pagaent with Gari McDonald the denounced queen for being a lesbain.
Talking about morals isn't Ms Tynes the young lady whom was at a party drinking alcohol, drunk displaying herself and making fun of a death of a friend's brother. Her own peers and classmates at Kingsway Academy r talking about her immoral behavior and questioning what happen this year with Cindy Thompson's Miss Teen Bahamas Program

and they say the pageant is not about looks. well, this queen by the way you describe is no sweet angel.
this pageant needs to be trashed, if they can not get it right, on how to treat and groom young ladies.
saying the ladies got one postive is a shat argument, they need to find away to get the people together.
:hammer:
ItsGoingDown 11-28-06, - 04:21 PM I think the point missteensup is trying to make is that no matter what the other girls did or how hard they tried that it was obvious to them that Miss Tynes would come out in first place.Knowin this they still pressed on hoping in the end good will prevail which it did not
missteensup 11-29-06, - 12:59 PM Is it just me or haven't the Miss Bahamas Universe and Miss Commonwealth have all embraced Miss Teen categories in their pagaents?
www.bahamaslife.com
I think that is great, because they are credible pagaent, who now give young teen girls a chance to compete international and be judged fairly. They even had international judges this year, not that what i mean by professional.
Well at least young girls don't have to rely on Miss Cindy Thompson's Miss Teen Bahamas Program anymore for development, the real development progrmas have arrived.
Also their is Mr. Theodore Elyett Miss Teen Bahamas International and Miss Teen Bahamas World held now. oh he is definetly professional meet him, his program is well put together and has currently experienced staff.

Bianca Bastian 11-29-06, - 05:34 PM I am one of the contestants of this past Miss Teen Bahamas. The whole outcome of the pageant was indeed predetermined. At the begining of the program there were 17 contestants and then 9 and another was added. I was the only contestant that was there from August 19th and I've observed everything that took place.
From the uncontrolabe tardiness of the committee members without apology to the cheating of the finalnight.
The switching of scores and forging of signatures is totally childish. If you wanted this particular girl to become queen then instead of having a competition then simply appoint her. A queen should have an exemplifying attitude of which this queen doesn't possess.
Ms D'Vanya as a child what can you change from the program? The legacy that your mother left behind istotally tarnished and disfigured. Ms. Marsha Lambert herself recruited girls from the Yodephy agency. I myself personally heard Ms. Diranne Tynes referring to Ms. Lambert as Auntie Marsha. You yourself D'Vanya aren't you Diranne's best friend.........................................how ironic.
This was my first pageant that I've ever been in and "a fisrt impression is a lasting impression". In this pageant I don't know what the judges were looking for in a queen. But Diranne and myself were the best of friends during the program but after she took the crown that she knows that she didn't work for and knew it wasn't hers it was destroyed.
I do agree that the Miss Teen Bahamas program needs to be discontinued. Never in a lifetime in NO competition does each contestant or participant left with a trophy a cover up to shut us up......................................I think not they have another thing coming.
NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES THIS MATTER WILL BE SOLVED.

Is this how we treat our young people?
Is this how pageants are done all over the world?
Bianca Bastian 11-29-06, - 05:42 PM I guess solid is good depending on your taste. But the ideal size for a beauty queen is slim-not large. This wasn't the Miss Big And Beautiful Teen Bahamas. Most of those girls are huge.
Size in the Bahamas is different than any other place in the world. I am not huge its not depending on taste either it just a part of the Bahamian society no where in the Bahamas is a small female unless she is anorexic. The comment you made is indeed stupid.
Abiskan Moon-Angel 11-29-06, - 05:50 PM omg..is this thread STILL active...geez...Rory WHERE ARE YOU???
