Another year for miss teen bahamas competition, along with the DRAMA. This years competition was a accumulation of scheming, scandal and balant disrespect for the contestants, sponsors and fellow bahamain supporters. From day one, the outcome was predetermine and no one not even the contestant herself hide this fact. But as true believers in all fairness each contestant pressed on in the quest to be apart of the Miss Teen Bahamas program and gain the title of Miss Teen Bahamas 0-07. Each contestant knew that at the end of the competition only one will arise the winner but what they did not expect or appreciate was the decision was already decided.
As november 19, 2006 a queen was crowned and a new spotlight on miss teen bahamas was lite. To expose the events that took place annually from the existence of Ms. Cindy Thompson Miss Teen Bahamas.
Throughout the "program" in which the committe members strongly advise the parents and sponsors to refer to it on November 20, 2006. Organization, time management and communication skills were not up to par for a program of 14 years. Contestants were advise differently at every meeting or rehersal, texted messaged to come to impromptu rehersals and meetings. Judges were not advised to what to look for when judging events, such as float parade where many costumes of contestants were judged instead of decor of the vechile. Judges were also picked on the spot such as Ms. Patrice Lockhart who was chosen to be a float judge at the site of parade. Regardless of the fact the she was already engaged with another contestant Brittney Bain entire ensemble. This impartial decision was made in every aspect of the "program". Example, former judges were allowed to enter their children into the competition, relatives of the committe and founder was also allowed to enter. In addition, contestants whom took part or currently apart of Yodelphy Modeling Angency directly involved with the "program" were also allowed.
During the competition on November 19, 2006 contestants were yelled at repeatly by Ms Krisprintina Jones and Ms. Asheena Nixon. Consquently the worse was done by Ms. Nixon who directly came into contestants faces yelling and pulling on them to preceed to the stage. Ready or not, when as a committe member she should have informed the host and hostess that contestants are not ready as yet please continue to entertain the audience. The contestants and sponsors were treated with little respect during that night when was repeatly told different infomation after each segment was over. Names were not called correctly,if called at all when each contestant was introduced. Information was left out for numerous contestants throughout the night, order was not being keep on stage when it was time for contestants to speak into the microphone. And to make matters worse, sponsor titles were incorrect on the judging sheets for example; Keia Armbrister, Miss High Technology. Lets talk about the sound proof room, what a joke the room was as regular as the stage, the only difference, was the television was blaring at the contestants playing spongebob squarepants. In what world would contestant feel relaxed and prepare themselves for a final questions with such noise yelled at them.
The result was quite evident, very fragile contestants expect the ones whom was told the final question prior to getting on stage.

To add more insult to injury on November 20, 2006 the presentation party was held at Breeze where parents and sponsors wanted answers to their burning questions and the balant display of deciet the night before. After much pulling and prying by parents to speak with the committe and look at the scorecards and event which was schedule to start 6:30 pm, began 8pm with Ms Richa Sands director welcoming everyone and addressing everyone with this statement; pro vebum " We did not force your children or put a gun to you or their heads to participate in Miss Teen Bahamas" which was stated repeatly like beating a dead horse. Irrate each parent asked for the contestants to leave so that this could be discussed further which was allowed. But as discussion got heated Ms. Asheena Nixon instructed the girls to enter the room again to confirm the accusations. This motion only added to the dilemna due to the fact that contestant did convey they recieved indifferent information. Float parade winner with the Atlantis theme was insufficient compared to Miss Precious Curry float which displayed all aspect of decor including covering the entire flatbed and tires of her vechile. Which the committe members stated was the determining factor for the Winner. The item of Ms. Popularity was address to what were factors explained once again by Ms. Jones ticket sales and advertisment in the booklet. Well after counting Bianca Bastian had 24 ads placed in the booklet and surpass the ticket sales was not given the award. The most distrubing part was Ms. Bastian paid for 28 advertisment in the program booklet but only 24 was published. To this date sponsors still await their souvenier programs for each ads paid for miss teen bahamas competition. Spokesmodel Awards was far fetched; some platforms conveyed by each contestants were vaguely paltforms. Contestants were marked on content, diction and poised to decide the winner. Unfortunately only one contestant stated facts and statistics to support her platform other just spewed information to the audience. Every contestant had poised and diction but very few had content. Yet the winner was not one of all three areas. Evening gown was another delimena when contestant was advised to wear their best gown to the preliminaries due to the fact that they will not be judged again. When in fact the top five was juged again the night of the competition which should not have been added to the final scores. Career Interviews were much to be desired when question went from one per contestants to as much as four for one contestant. Clearly a act of unfairness and unprofessionalism on the committe's behalf.
TallyMaster Mr. Larry Wilson was placed in the hot chair when the committe tried to put all the weight on his shoulders. It was so evident that he had to clarify exactly what scores he tallied inorder not feel the wrath of the parents. During this, he conveyed that he had the scores fortwo weeks prior to the night of the competiion, only a simple excel spreadsheet is used and him alone tally them for 14 years now. At this time, it was conveyed that two chartered accountants was in the midst and explained how unprofessional and inadequate the system being used was.
Miss Teen Bahamas Ms Diranne Tynes whom found it necessary to wear her sash to school the following day November 20,2006. During this evening had to be instructed by her Mother to "Smile and say hello to everyone" inturn Ms. Tynes rolls her eyes, thereafter her mother instructed her to " Take a seat then, go ahead i will protect you". There were no more available seats in the room so after asking if one seat was availabe which it was not she left the room. She displayed no attritubes of the queen from the beginning and to this day still aquired none. As soon at the end of the night when it was time to cut the cake and she decided she didn't feel like doing it so she was leaving. Left the room while contestants and parents waited for the cake to be cut. Miss Teen Harbour Island was asked to cut the cake on behalf of Miss Teen Bahamas being the 1st runner up. In which Ms. Tynes mother to " get back in the room and cut the cake. You wanted to be a queen so act like one" Miss Teen Bahamas 06-07 stormed back in the room moved Miss Teen Harbour Island out of the way and cut the cake and left.

Through all of this the committe did not understand or related the parents and this situation was never resolved. At the end of the night each contestant recieved their scorecards which was inadequate, some forged and missing pages. A recount was done the night with a parent and attorney and law but how could it be a correct count when all the scorecards were not made available and additional points of Top 5 Evening Gown competition was added which was incorrectly judged the night. To prove the point that the entire competition was staged from day one each contestant was asked their choice for Ms Amity; an award which the contestants write names and choose the winner. The result was not one of the contestants choice but another name. SO WHO IT LYING NOW THE CONTESTANTS. hhmmmmmm

I ask your after hearing all this fact and statements, Miss Teen Bahamas Program should not be allowed to have a Pagaent or Competition at the end of such a program. And this program should be discontinued, its credibilty and usefulness is gone. It function as a developmental program has lost its glitter. Committe members are overworked, numerous times Ms Sands spoke to them as if they were children, decisions that should have been made by the director was not made. And the prize of the scholarship was never decided on this year as contestants asked numerous times and never recieved an answer. Time to let it go like the committe stated they were strapped for cash it has become a nuisance instead of a benefit.

In summary....
Ms. Patrice Lockhart was a judge even though she was involved heavily with another contestant.

Judges and contestants from the Yodelphy Modeling Angency were allowed under the same banner.

Ms Krisprintina Jones and Ms. Asheena Nixon were mean b!tches at the show. They yelled and roughed up at the kids.

People paid for adds for the event and did not get the placed, neither their money back.

Richa Sands is a cruel woman for saying, "We did not force your children or put a gun to you or their heads to participate in Miss Teen Bahamas"...

The votes were tallied on a simple excel spreadsheet and were handed to the tally master two weeks before the actual show.

The new Miss Teen is a horrible mean stuck up b1tch, who does not like to talk to anyone. Has no grace class or humility.

To top it all off, parents neither contestants were given true tally sheets of their progress.

Sounds like BS to me....and it sounds wrong!
This must be the way pageants go. Is the Miss Bahamas like this too?

*couldn't make it past 1st paragraph*, but I agree - it should be banned. what a load of crap - these girls need to focus on something useful - not dressing up like drag queens then parading around the stage like muppets at 15years old. get a life. beauty pageants are *SO* lame...and no, i'm not im not fat or ugly.

The bottom line is all pageants are "fixed" the owner/organizer always has someone in mind to be the winner days/weeks before the pageant night....if that person has an "ok" performance the night of the pageant then the choice is clear....i didnt watch the pageant but the new queen looks aight to me....yeah and the original post was too long i know ya got alot on your chest but dannng:sparky:

That does not stop it from hurting the feelings of the young kids, who do not understand the sophisticated game us adults MUST play; on their behalf no doubt.
This is horrible. Bloody well terrible. I cry shame of the event organizers to having pushed a young lady "like the author" to the limit.
That's a damn shame!

that sucks, it really does...but i wonder; is it mandatory for all pageant contestants to talk like the author? (rambling, improper use of words as a result of feigning a mastery of the english language)

if you have a point, poor grammar and use of the english language causes the credibility of your argument to swiftly dissolve...
this pageant sounds like crap.

Well, if a man like you can not capitalize his words; a man who went to college. then most certainly this young lady is allowed to miss a few words.

You are just so sick and silly bro. You do not know how I am close to vomit capacity when I see you type.
