Last night at a gathering of rank and file Bahamians on both (PLPs and FNMs) sides of the political divide it was stated that Fred Mitchell was asked by the PLP to seriously consider his political chances at all cost as he as a member of parliment is very important o the PLP.
It was stated the Fred beef up his campaigning and his political stragity. Since then Fred has now gotten involved with the Fox Hill Congoes Junkanno Group. To this end many person seems to look at him very suspiciouly and make fun of him.
It was also stated as a fact, that Fred was told that a safe seat, (in my view I fail to see a safe seat for the PLP this time) could be made for him...,
The PLP is worried that the grounds that Dr. Higgs is making in Fox Hill has the potential of knocking Fred out and they do not want to loose Fred as a PLP Opposition MP. Dr. Higgs has also commissioned a song that is quite a story about the type of MP that Fox Hill has and what Fox Hill needs.
Also, a bet of $50,000.00 was made to anyone to match that Fred would loose.... no PLP has come forth to bet although many of the PLPs they could have afford it. The bet is still on the table....,
This was something else as no one wanted to bet that Neville Wisdom was going to be re-elected a $20,000.00 bet was wadged here.
Last night was quite an eye opener for me, needless to say it was lots of fun.. Bahamians debating politics and it was a spirited evening.
