I was told that most Bahamians dont have any need for driving education, because all you have to do is pay any corrupt person in road traffic and get it. The price usually are 200 Dollars.

If this is true, it really explains some of the driving i see.

this is true. i was having a talk with one of my friends yesterday and she told me how her cousin got his license when he only turned 17. this has been going on for years and doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Ah!!! So that explains some peoples driving skills. They have none at all! But I hate it. When will the corruption stop. There seems to be no concrete plan to stop this and the government dosen't seem interested to create one. Hmp! actin like they dont' notice what's goin on. like hell they don't!

i hate driving in nassau, it stresses me out sooo much.

-no signal, so i almost go into the back of them
-no lights at night or in evening lowlight
-slows down to 3 mph to make turn or turn on a bend, cause they cant handle the vehicle they are in
-come out in front of you
-reversing out on a main road
-tractors on main roads, that have no lights, BUT they have a licence plate!?
-orange light is not a green light!
-making a 2nd lane running oncoming traffic off the road
-lines on road, what are they?
-black or blue smoke to kill you
-jitneys stopping ANYWHERE
-people walking like they are dead when crossing the road (not traffic related but..)
-school kids all over the road like stray dogs!!!
-traffic cops - their job in nassau is a joke!

etc etc etc

I heard a story. I doubt it is true but I hope it is.

A guy bought a driver's licence. Two weeks later he had an accident. He totaled his car and the car he hit - that was being driven by the chap who "sold" him the licence!!

If it is true then there is justice after all.

U could buy anything in the Bahamas... a license is small tings.

Me personally I had my license from 16. The dude who give license tests use to drink at a bar my oldman owned. Further me and my dad have the same name so I got one with his bday and age on it. But remeber that was back then when we had hand written licenses.
