A guy was shot and killed new years day morning.
According to police responding to a call from my Aunt as some one threw 2 rocks at her window and broke it late last night.

We need to addrerss the issues as it relates to crime.... this is serious.

.............. or maybe we should call the US to trick the suspect into going to the US for training as dereadhead and others suggest maybe the only way for us.... we have already stated that our RBPF may not be as effect but Uncle Sam, wow - let unca Sam do our dirty work....

I am floored the girl is my cousins daughter.

What a sad way to start a year her grandmother and I are fairly close...

Vicky why dont you and the GLBT start to earn you social keep, and help prevent crime by putting on a crime watch programme or a special GLBT event.

Or you feel helping out with crime is not an issue the GLBT should participate in. I bet you can find a whole heap of things to do, other than actually HELP this country.

Y2k its a good thing I am a lady cause the words that come to mind right now are not even fit for thought but I can't help it as I read this.

This is a very sad time for our family and her family she has a 5 month old child. Her Dad was shot at close range with a shotgun in his own home during a robbery a few years ago. He survived but is still medically challenged. Her Grandfather died just over a year ago.

What proof do we have that Bahamians are not a naturally aggressive people? This is commonly mentioned but Im beginning to have my doubts:

One of the highest murder rates in the world per capita

Politicians fighting each other physically

Aggressive posters on here who verbally assassinate all who venture here with another opinion

Some of the most aggressive women I have ever witnessed in a matriachal society.

Bullying rampant in our schools and kids with knives etc.

Where is the meekness??

Good question! I think at one time Bahamians were a peaceful people. Unfortunately some bad influences have come to our shores that some have embraced with open arms.

That is the $64.000 question! My guess would be that we adopted values that were not our own. At the same time we moved away from the Spiritual values that had served us so well in the past. We became greedy and when one is greedy one can never be content. We see others as a threat, something standing in our way that has to be "moved" so we can get what we think we need. We have lost our way. We cant distinguish between the useful and the useless, the good or the bad. All we want is want we want and to hell with others.
