As most of you all may already know, I am "off the island".:D And will probably be off around the time of the big showdown in 07. (if Perry ever calls it, and I bet he forget too)

Anyways, on one of my recent stops at a destination that will be considered undisclosed for security reasons, I have found out that this great nation, has no provision for absentee ballots.

Why are we so backward sometimes man?
:dgi:

As simple as a flippin absentee ballot, we can't get that up and running?

ok islandgyal, come with your new and updated information.

LOL....man we have civil servants in this country incapable of conveying a message! This country can't process applications and court cases in a timely manner.....and your asking for absentee ballots? Even if they were available, I have no garruntee they will be counted. LOL....have you seen our mailing service? My ballot will arrive when the winning party is 2 years in office!

nothing more to add ... you're absolutely right. you have to physically come home to cast your ballot, period. have no idea whether the idea is to keep the riff raff bahamian expats out of the equation because they've been away from home for too long and therefore as seen as being out of touch with the issues, or just plain lack of attention to detail. or the work of control freaks, which i know that many of you will find hard to believe :taped2:.

this issue has been discussed for years ad nauseum within the expat community abroad, to no apparent avail.
