What do you think about the sick-out today at BahamasAir?
How will these types of labor unrest affect of travel industry?
What needs to be done at BahamasAir?

Just means other airlines will make more money!
They may as well close down BahamasAir also as thats just another government joke!

Bahamasair Has And Continues To Be An Embarrasing Representation Of The Bahamas.
Our Government Need To Put Their Politics Aside And Close Bahamasair. .....for Starters....
Government Should Get Out Of Trying To Run A Complicated Airline Business That Present Great Challenges Even For This Industry's Experts.
Let The Other Airlines Make The Money And Meet The Routes Efficiently For The Sake Of Our Tourism Industry!!

Let The Other Airlines Make The Money And Meet The Routes Efficiently For The Sake Of Our Tourism Industry!! This all sounds good, but which other airline will meet the needs of the southern islands eg. Acklins,Crooked Island
ps. I agree politics needs to be put aside to make bahamasair a viable entity, also please check the insurance policies of those other airlines.

any airline once it is not owned by the bahamas government But would you put your life on the line by flying them. ps In my job i have to travel to the islands,an your life insurance only covers death on an international carrier, please check the insurance on these airlines that you are so willing to fly. That's why i said there needs to be some refining of policies before we go that route.

I guess i still remember the 'old days'.
When i was 10 flying bair from freeport to nassau, we crash landed in a 737, on take off an engine caught on fire, right near my window actually, as the front wheels were off the ground and we were just at the end of the runway, and it landed again off the runway straight away, into the shrubs and bushes, had to wait a couple days for another flight!

and a british airways crashed in scotland?
i think they crashed a columbia space shuttle as well..im not sure check it for me,but i think that president bush amde a statement and it was a big thing!

Good point yk2bad!
Bahamasair pilots do a great job. They put forth a good effort. I think if I survived a fire in a building I would be grateful. To survive a fire on an airplane that was partially airborne, I would personally thank the pilots. This is a good example of why they are paid so well. They risk their lives everyday every flight. But to each his own I can understand why some are upset about Bahamasair. I can’t say they are wrong for feeling this way. We all have our reasons why we agree with the methods of some agencies and why we disagree with others. However I would like to say that legitimate commercial Bahamian pilots all go through rigorous training every six months to maintain their license. I think they all deserve credit, they use their skills to help us and never to harm or hurt us. I have heard of pilots from well loved foreign airlines that frequent the Bahamas land at the wrong airport. Or more significantly lost the entire aircraft and everyone onboard. Has the later ever happened with Bahamasair? Many of the delays at Bahamasair are because they prefer for us to be late than in a catastrophe. Most foreign pilots are pressured by their companies to take unnecessary risks. (The dollar is more important than protecting lives) Thank all the good people for a delay that keeps me alive to be on time another day. Most of the problems at Bahamasair Start at the House of Assembly and end with senior management and everyone knows this.

i have yet to be late on a bahamasair flight from nassau to any of the out islands, and i have been flying them since the days of bahamas airways. i have no problem whatsoever with the excellent pilots or stewards ... front office at nassau international could use a LOT of service training and attitude checking, though, for true. the bahamasair staff in the out islands is outstanding ... mussee the leftovers being stuck back in nassau, eh?
my biggest issue with flying into or out of nassau is the airport itself, which is an embarrassment given how much money we make from tourism each year. how come the cleaning service can't ever seem to find paper towel and toilet paper to put up in these bathrooms? you have got to be kidding me. even the smaller countries in the caribbean like st. vincent have better bathrooms than nassau airport does ... <suck teeth>.
