View Full Version : The PLP convention
watsayu 05-03-06, - 02:16 PM T,if they had their way we would have an FNM govt tomorrow.
:gi:
You got it wrong once more, it would be from today, the FNM would be in power. Get it......:)
pharoah 05-03-06, - 02:33 PM :hammer: You people sound so bitter not one of you said anything against what the convention speakers claim, not one of you disclaim what was said as false yet you want me and others to dive in and agree with you. All I see here is a bunch of negative feedback that a group of cry babies who are all obvious FNM'S say about the present Government. Since all of you are basically saying the same thing why just let one write your garbage and just let the others agree, because you are not saying anything different. You high jack every form that is discussing political matters with your hate. I am grateful that you guys don't have the final voice of the Bahamian people and if you hope to influence others you need to be more objective and not so hating.
I will bet that the history of this form would reveal that you guys have never condemn anything Hubert or the FNM has done, even when Hubert called Bahamians Stupid you were silent, even when Hubert step on members of his own party you were silent now you hide behind the keyboard promoting your BS. I believe that you are all FNM stalwart members, present and ex-MP’s who got your backside kick in the last election. “GET OVER IT” because guess what you are all going to get your “Butts Kick” again so enough of the “BS”…………. Hubert is a DICTATOR and he only cares about himself its his way or the highway if you think for a minute that he cares about you and your welfare you just ask Tennyson Wells or Tommy Turnquest, the latter of whom may be to scared to even say in public what he really thinks about Hubert.
People like you can never see anything as positive no matter what the present Government do. You can make has much noise as you want on this form that has no voting power, but guess what come next year you would have to continue in your bitter ways for a next five years. Have a good day.
Calm down Real Bahamian. The PLP is carrying out the FNM policy to a hilt.
The PLP is boasting of foreign investment in the billions when they comdemn the FNM for the same. The PLP decried the FNM for changing the immovable prperties act and after four years, not only have they not change it they boast of all the so call investments under the same act! Now tell me that aint the height of hypocrisy and double talk.
The PLP blame the Hubert Ingraham administration for the high rate of crime at the time and promise to do better. Look at the crime rate today!
The PLP promise that they will change the boundaries commissions. They have not done so 'as we speak'. The PLP is still promising new schools after four years of governance!
You think we will fall for this last minute garbage! The PLP blasted the Hubert Ingraham administration for not having privatize Batelco and after four years Batelco is still not privatize and in fact is worth less than it did four years ago!
The flag carrier Bahamasair is suppose to be at profitability if you had listen to Bradley Roberts, but it continue to lose millions of dollars! Bahamasair suppose to be privatize by last summer. The summer is almost here again and the airline is still in the hands of the goverment! Dont forget the straw vendors and their plight. The National health plan suppose to have been in existence by now.
While we are at it let us not foret the stubbs bankruptcy; the korean boat scandal; the harajchi deal and the Bradley Roberts rape scandal just to name a few. Do you think that we should forget about this because this inept goverment is selling our land in what must be the largest land grab in the history of the Bahamas.
By the way i will bet that you call your forum name the 'Real Bahamian' because you are a supporter of the PLP. Thats the kind of mentality that the PLP breathes and thats a shame!

Hmmmm! So thats what you're calling this bunch of hacks,*politically aware*? Big Lol!
RockWell 05-04-06, - 12:57 PM well ZNS is playing a sound bite from the convention. It's PM Christie talkig about about how Ingraham promised only 2 terms & then made a 360 degree turnaround and is running again. Is that the most important point they could find to highlight? Plus, if someone turns around 360 degrees they will be facing back in the same direction. I think PM Christie meant 180 degrees.
Lol! Good one ma brudder!:D
watsayu 05-04-06, - 02:32 PM Let me sum it up, PLP mini-convention, one day convention.
Attandance - Disappointing to the people who planned it.
Young Bahamians - totally ignored it.
A few gay mem, like (lol) yal' know who, showed up looking to get stright.........
It was not exciting at all.
The speakers for the most part were not prepared.
It was the same old, same ol.
Perry Christie came accross and stressed out ans sick, and the crowd was tired and sick of the lame attempt to jump start the campaign. They have to go back to the drawing board.
They broght in people from the family Island and that did not help much. There were expecting an over crowd, packed house. It was boaring and lack luster. TO grade it it would get a 65%.
canewry 05-05-06, - 12:35 AM Hmmmm! So thats what you're calling this bunch of hacks,*politically aware*? Big Lol!

watsayu 05-07-06, - 03:40 AM It is like 2:40 am, Sunday, May 7, 2006. I was hanging out with some of my PLP family. They wanted me to go with them to the PLP Free Party at da fish fry.
All day, they were getting ready for it, riding up and down Nassau as most PLP MPs in Nassau ws trying to drum up support for people to attend it. We rean in to Fred Mitchell's motorcade, it was sad, about 6 cars, two were red plated (government vehicles). I had the time to say to Fred that he will be beaten in the election, and called the name of the young FNM who would defeat him, he looked at me and almost ....
But the shock was at da fish fry... despite their greatest efforts the crowd was not what was expected and that is why I am now writing.
A top PLP general joined us, and you know I took the honour of pay for the first round for everyone just to find out what was the thinking within the PLP circles. It was explained, that the PLP will reconsider their posture, everything seems to be back firing and the anticipated crowd and reception is too lukewarm. They are also blameing Raynard Rigby and seems that an effort would be made to not put him out front anymore.
In my thinking, and what was going on in my mind, is that whatever they try, it will fail..., the PLP is finished.
Alien 05-07-06, - 04:51 AM The convention was a nice little rally I must admit.
They had a few "fillers" pile into the back of the auditorium, to make it seem as if a young crowd participated.
LOL....
Nice show though!

Interesting...I do know that PLP MP's and generals are upset because they arent feeling the momentum they know a party needs going into an election..this sorta reminds me of the way Republican Congressman in the U.S feel right now heading into their elections..only in the U.S they are essentially blaming Bush for why they might not win. But in this case, alot of these PLP MPs and Cabinet Ministers have no one to blame but themselves for the way Bahamians feel about them right now.
Yes Mr. Christie is a laid-back leader the likes of which has certainly not helped him, but his Cabinet Ministers in a many instances are loose cannons, dishonest, dont respect him, pure bred opportunists and backstabbers as far as their relationship with their PM is concerned.
They can try to put the blame on Raynard all they want to, but if they lose the next general election, it wont be because Ray-tard Rigby (as the Punch and bloggy boyz dub him) doesnt know what to say and when. Raynard isnt THAT powerful a player in all this. Its better for them to open their eyes and honestly determine why they are not happy with the reception they are getting right now.
