I spoke with some friends in North Andros and they are very unhappy with Minister Vincent Peet. They are unhappy with him because he "thinks he is in charge". They claim Minister Peet hung up the phone on one of his "supporters".
The core problem right now is the PLPs in North Andros want to victimize the FNMs. A small group of PLPs feel they are responsible for Mr. Peet's re-election and they want him to open the Public Treasury to them.
Mr. Peet being the sensible man he is, and being in the company of other sensible people, cannot do what they want, and is not inclined to do what they want. I believe Mr. Peet, having been removed from office before, prefers to be removed from office doing the right thing than to remain in office doing the wrong thing and losing his dignity, self-respect, and reputation.
Managers must do things right. Leaders must do the right things. Let's hope Mr. Peet remains a leader. We will watch and take notes.
