Feb. 25, 2007 — New scientific evidence, including DNA analysis conducted at one of the world's foremost molecular genetics laboratories, as well as studies by leading scholars, suggests a 2,000-year-old Jerusalem tomb could have once held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth and his family.

The findings also suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene might have produced a son named Judah.

The DNA findings, alongside statistical conclusions made about the artifacts — originally excavated in 1980 — open a potentially significant chapter in Biblical archaeological history.

A documentary presenting the evidence, "The Lost Tomb of Jesus," will premiere on the Discovery Channel on March 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The documentary comes from executive producer James Cameron and director Simcha Jacobovici.

This I doubt! One would have to have the DNA of Jesus to make that work.

Good point. But there is no proof that the image on the Shroud is Jesus. Secondly, did they take DNA samples? If so how degraded are the samples? Lots of questions!!

there was a documentary some time ago that said the shroud is fake. an image of a 'normal' man. it was even said to be the image of leonardo davinci at one time.

What I understand is the the DNA test does not prove the remains are Jesus. But it proves the family relation to the names on the ossuarys. It also proves that this Jesus and Mary had a son named Juda. The ossuarys also name the brothers of Jesus.

Now the big thing is the names in the Bible and the names in the tomb. What are the chances that a family tomb of the same time period would have the same names as in the Bible.

This does not mean the way of life Jesus taught is wrong or any less inspired.

Jesus the man who walked the earth........

I truly hope many don't loose their faith in the Creator over this.
