Bishop Simeon B. Hall a graduate of the American Baptist Theological Seminary has been invited to return to his Alma Mater to be a part of the distinguished Garnet Nabrit Lecture/Preaching Serie.

I think the fact that he is a well known Bahamian who has distinguished himself in the field of religion locally and internationally.

I could be mistaken, but to think otherwise appears at least to this writer, "How is this National News?" demonstrates the perennial BLACK CRAB syndrome.

It's not black crab syndrome. This story is not important. It's not impacting anyone nationally. The only thing I can say about the story is...."ummmm ok...have a good trip?" It's more appropriate in probably the religion section where it is probably most admired if it must be put in a newspaper at all. People come from away to give seminars all the time, do you see it on CNN?.....unless they are going to say something controversial like Ann Coulter.

When I go to Florida again, whenever that may be I want a column in the newspaper saying "Bahamian decides to gives back to Floridian economy" :cool:

Yes for one, its in the national news section, and not the Church Section.
I for one never heard of this man, but thats because I dont follow church news. I mean there are Bahamians that do WAY more than this every day of the week, and get no Media exposure .. but regardless .. it was in the national news section, that was mostly my point. :)

Only one on the CC i heard of is that Bishop that was in the news, and Cedric Moss, cause i did some work for him some time ago, and he came on this forum a couple times .. otherwise I dont follow the CC or church news.

This is in the national section of the news paper because the state of the Bahamas is becoming more indistinguishable from the church in the Bahamas. This is the type of thing that happens in a 'christian nation'. Get use to it. There is more to come. Even the government website mentions religious news. Ah well!!!!

It should be in the Religious news section, once again, it IS NOT national news.
But its up to them .. they can do what they like .. i figured they just made a mistake since they are always posting Editorials and commentaries in that section also.

I think it’s more of a press release than national news as well.
But then again most of our national news stories are in fact press releases, sigh.

There is just so much more real news to post, I dont get why they waste space in that section for non important stuff like that.

How about the security guard that stabbed an off duty police, who also had a gun put to his head from an on duty plain clothed police, which then also spawned multiple other fights including a bunch of gals fighting men and gals alike .. Yah never hear bout that stuff. .. rarely, unless they die that is; lets not forget when yah get stabbed in the kidney or lungs it can debilitate yah for life ..

And how about armed robbers following female shoppers home in the middle of the day and robbing them ... known issue to the cops at the time, yet noone else knows about it ..

but I guess thats not news compared to this. :(

Rory this very frightening and disturbing..what you mention in the 2nd paragraph..does not even sound like something that happens around here!

But many years ago the police stopped publishing certain terrible crime news 'cause they believe it will frighten the tourists..
