View Full Version : The "A" Word..
nationbuilder 03-10-07, - 06:40 PM Rove calls Obama 'articulate' during Little Rock speech
LITTLE ROCK Presidential adviser Karl Rove used the "a-word" today when describing the U-S Senator Barack Obama at a speech in Little Rock.
Articulate.
Rove told a crowd at an event planned by the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service: QUOTE "He's charismatic, he's articulate, he's a very strong figure on the national stage. But something tells me that people are going to say (they want) experience and depth. As a result it's going to be, 'Can he live up to the standards?'"
Articulate seems to be a word following Obama, a black, first-term Illinois senator. U-S Senator Joe Biden (BYE-den) of Delaware, a Democratic presidential hopeful, described Obama to the New York Observer in January as, among presidential candidates, QUOTE "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." Biden later apologized for his remarks.
After the Biden remarks, Obama cautioned that they could be taken as disparaging toward previous black presidential candidates, including Carol Moseley Braun, Shirley Chisholm, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
Exrated 03-10-07, - 06:54 PM the same word they used for colin powell..
but they never say that for any of the white candidates.. guess being articulate is a seldom found trait in blacks.

i celebrate obama and his run for the presodency....but america is not ready for a bi-racial president named obama hussein barak...
nor a female president...
michali 03-10-07, - 07:27 PM 1. New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine commented on potential Presidential candidates. On Barack Obama he says Mr. Obama is the real deal. He does question his managerial experience. Mr. Corzine says Hillary Clinton is articulate and disciplined but not charismatic. He feels she will have a hard time getting elected. Listen to the short comments here: […]
2. Why is George Bush so articulate?? Don't you all wish that?
3. Tony Blair may be a lapdog but at least he is an articulate one!
Just googled for some quotes ( three above) on white politicians being articulate...not that I would agree that George Bush is!! But, you get my point?
Personally, I hope to live long enough to see Barak Obama as President of USA but I will not say why in case my remarks are interpreted as racist! I think he is great...is that OK to say??
nationbuilder 03-10-07, - 07:35 PM I remember in college during my classical voice recital, one of the professors commented on my rendition of a French song and said "my, her French is beautiful," and the other professor goes, "yes, you people from the Caribbean are very articulate from what I've seen". I was like :gi:
LOL .. yall funny .. they call Bush much worst things ..:voodoo:
BTW, was that word supposed to be demeaning or something?
Would it be better if they called him an a hold like Clinton is .. ;)
Articulate
1. clear, effective
2. especially, speaking in a clear or effective manner
....She's a bright, articulate young woman.
3. able to bend or hinge at certain points or intervals
....The robot arm was articulate in two directions.
maybe the whities just aren't very articulate :D

So, they called all these (white) folks articulate? I guess that shoots holes in the racist argument! The thing is all leaders should be articulate.

Geezus.....this is a possible opponent for Rove and the Republicans ya know, you cant praise him too much. If he were to have said, Obama should go falk his Mamma, everyone would have called him a racist too.
:o
Can't even pay these negroe's any kind of honour at all. Fact is, Rove is right. The former law chancellor of Harvard, should be very VERY articulate, and Rove knows it.
