the problem with pitbulls is even if they are raised right and never trained to be bad, there is something in their genes that can turn the sweetest pitbull deadly even if it is for 2 seconds. thats why they are known as an aggressive breed. there has been severly incidents over the past year in the USA where a family pet pitbull which was raised properly had attacked one of the kids. all i know is i dont want a dog that is known to be an aggressive breed in my house. but yeah the bigger problem is these stupid, troublesome, bahamian males need to put down the dogs and pick up a book. they need to get some self esteem man. its so sad to me

That's as good or better than beagles ... 78.2%, and golden retrievers ... 83.2%.You never hear about attacks from other dogs but when a pitbull does something everyone's so quick to jump to hold that agaist them I've seen other attacks and heard other attacks from dogs like the german shepherd, golden retrievers, and even poodles. My niece even experienced an bite from a poodle. I didnt here it on the news or here people talking about it. But thats the dog everybody's targetting THE PITBULL why?I dont hear about other dog attacks!



you dont hear about other attacks becuase usally when another breed atacts it bits and let go. when other dogs attack they bite to tell you dont mess with me, leave me alone. when a pitbull bites or attackts it doesnt stop until you are dead. they attact to kill. yes people have been bitten by other breeds but how many people have been killed by a chow, a golden, a poodle etc also people should also be aware of other deadly breed such as Akita's; Doberman's, and Germans's. heres what i say we dont need these type of domestic animals in our homes

I absolutely loathe owners who do not properly fence in their dogs, particularly if the dog has an aggressive nature. I can remeber so many times as a child having to sprint home, or walk around the corner, or cross the street, just to avoid the neighbours viscious dogs. Mind you I was always on the public road. It was fustrating for me, and very scary, and gave me what I call a canine phobia. I would not walk in a residential neighbourhood in Nassau I did not know for fear that someone's dog will come bounding out from behind the yard, and lunge at my neck. I had a near death experience a few years ago invovling some dogs through Bradley Street in Palmdale. I was walking home form city markets carrying two large bags of grocery, when all of a sudden these two dogs ran out of a yard with no fence, and lunged at me. All I could do was stand my ground, no sense in running when they were that close to me, especially with large bags in my hand. That shook me for the entire day, and I was absolutely pissed off. The government needs to implement harsher cannine regulations and fines for idiotic dog owners, who use the phrase, "My dog don bite", and leave their fences open so that their dogs can bite, scar, or even kill every red blooded thing passing in it's wake. Well what do you think the dog has teeth for?No one, not even the owner can predict a dogs behaviour, and at any moment an animal's nature can go from docile to aggressive. I dont want to see animal cruelty or anything like that, but I know that I dont want to ever get bitten by a dog, or see anyone particularly kids get bitten or even worse be killed by a dog. Because god forbid if it should happen to me(bitten by a dog without provocation) and it wont be mine cuz I will never own one, I would pray for the ability to wipe this earth clean of any agressive dogs and their idiotic owners. Whew! Had to get that off of my chest folks.

theres also a way to tell when a dog is going to attack ... look at its eyes and face ... sometimes only means its going to growl or bark but best to get defencive at that point .. eg. pull out your can of mace, machete, or shotgun and run foe it .. make sure drag it into your yard afterwards .. yah know .. so yah dont go to doggy prison .. :D

Best way to not get attacked is dont look at the dog at all, turn your face the other way, and dont run .. keep going same way.

There was an incident her in a city in Canada. A man got attacked by his own pitbull as he was walking it at around 1 am in the morning. Thankfully a man was passing in truck and offered assistance. According to the man the dog had his owners arm chewed up, he was in a mess, and the dog would not let go of his owner. The authorities eventually found the dog and shot it.

If you knew anything about dogs or the breed itself you would know that pitbulls are like every dog except that its will to please its master is alot stronger. This dog is a beautiful dog and only attacks when its space is violated as in the case with the little girl who was mauled because she had trespassed into their yard but isnt this also characteristic of ANY dog. These dogs are victims simply because they are popular and because there are more of them around its only natural we hear that this person was bit or attacked, however why dont you look at the number of "potcakes" running around nassau and snapping and people or tipping over their garbage and tell me what breed THEY happen to be, you only know a pittbull because its so distinct in look, but I know if i showed you a Argentino Dogo or a crossed bred Boxer or Presa Canario you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between any of them and pittbulls.

What do you know about Rottweilers? Have you ever compared their physical attributes to those of a pittbull? Did you know Rottweilers can grow to weigh more than the average man? Rottweilers are larger than pittbulls, their mouths are larger, and they are used more by police and security guard companies. Ever stop to think why? Pittbulls are actually alot easier to train because of their will to please so why would these companies use another breed, most likely because of size, power and viciousness.

Delroy said something about classifying them with tigers and bears, why, because you arent able to walk into someones yard and control THEIR dog? If these dogs were as bad as you make them out to be how is it possible for these "young boys" to walk these dogs down the cable beach strip and not themselves get mauled? These dogs have had a bad history becuase of their traits and desire to please and being in the hands of BAD OWNERS who desired them to be killers but dogs are like guns, they can be safe and bring comfort and security if taken care of by the right hands, but in the wrong hands they can be a problem.

Everyone has complained about these dogs that HAVE homes and owners and our SEEN on leishes why complain about something that there is more of a handle on, why not complain about these potcakes running around, why dog some of you go on the street take these dogs to the humane society and have them put down or clean them up and adopt them, why dont you try to solve that problem instead of creating one that isnt as important. These pitbulls you see running around are potcake pit bulls, which are seen because these potcakes run around and into peoples yards and breed with peoples pets, they arent PUT there. I guarentee if you get rid of these potcakes and the UNKNOWN breeds you wont see that RANDOM pregnant pit bull roaming your neighborhood. Pit bulls are to expensive to their owners to let them just roam, puppies can range from 400$ to thousands of dollars depending on the breed or pit bull. Would you leave a mercedez benz or a lexxus outside at night with the keys in it?

Based on what i have read here and the little i do know about dogs it seems that we need not be discussing PITBULLS in particular but discussing regulations for dogs in general. If any breed can be trained to be aggressive then it stands to reason that all dogs should be muzzled in public areas. Persons should not be allowed to own dogs unless they can prove that their homes are equipped to facilitate and restrain their pets.
No fence/wall, no pet.
I have been watching the Dog Whisperer on National Geographic and I have learned that it is indeed the master who should be in control. When you take a dog for a walk you should not be straining to hold the leash and stumbling along in what ever direction the dog wants to take you like the young fellas who wonder round here with their dogs do.
We need to advocate for some sort of regualtions to be put in place straight accross the board and not just for pitbulls.
I will say this, if my daughter is harmed in any way by any animal in a public place (not if she goes uninvited into the yard where the animal is properly restrianed) then the police wont have to come kill the animal...they will have to come for the body.

I know there's nothing that can be said to change your minds about pitbulls. But I was absolutely furious when I came across this website. In my opinion, everyone posting they hate pitbulls are nothing but ignorant racist people. Personally I feel like the world needs less people like you. I have been raised around nothing but pitbulls my whole life and would never own another breed. The pitbull was america's family dog way before Lassie ever was. They were a symbol used by U.S. Military, hell even Hellen Keller owned a pitbull!! I am a single mother of a little boy who's 4 yrs old. I manage a storage property that has 24 hour access so I don't let my dogs run outside. My pitbulls are "Inside" dogs. Since I have started working here I have helped change the negative views of many people, including my boss, who at one time was scared of my dogs.....now my older female pitbull Sky is in love with him and crys at the door when she hears him in the office. My younger pitbull, Kayne, is 8 months old. He has bonded so much with my little boy, follows him everywhere he goes and when my boy goes to the bathroom he will sit outside the door until he comes out.....as if he's on guard! It really is a sweet sight to see. Alot of pitbulls make the horrible decision to make there pitbulls agressive-fight-etc. I have never mistreated my dogs and would kill someone if they attempted to hurt mine. I also don't leave my pitbulls out when I'm gone...they each have there own kennel. The most important thing is I've taught my little boy the basic rules that goes with ANY breed.....1. Don't bother a sleeping dog- it could scare them 2. Don't mess with there food or water bowls- that should pretty much explain itself 3. Don't mess with there toys, but sometimes I let him throw the tennis balls to the dogs...only while I'm watching. He can tell them to drop the ball and they drop it at his feet. These are basic rules that any person with common sense will have. Most dogs bite when provoked and in my opinion any attack involving a pitbull can easily be linked back to the ignorance of there owner!!:bye: :bye: :bye: My dogs are loving memebers of my home. They're like my children and wouldn't give them up for anything. I have many pictures of my boy and pitbulls that I would gladly show any of you. I'm not trying to tell you how to think, just trying to help you open your eyes. All these ignortant thugs are causing this fantastic family dog to slowly fade away. A true pitbull would never be bred if it showed ANY kind of aggression towards humans!! Agressive traits are undesired and frowned on with breed standards. Open your eyes and hearts people and give them a chance. One bad deed by one dog should not cause negative actions on the "True" pitbull!! Read up on the true pitbull and hey maybe even try meeting a pitbull.....most people who say they hate pitbulls have never even met one.
