RockWell 02-17-06, - 03:26 PM wow what a rant, just anotha bush hater ... that sais it all. Lol! biggy 02-17-06, - 04:07 PM How can someone be racist when talking about pit bulls????? Does racism now extend to dogs? The only correlation that I can see between pitbulls and racism may be that in the States it is the dog of choice for GhettoThugg guys, trying to project a bad boy image, whether they are the real deal or not. Many people have been hurt by the animals belonging to people as they teach them to be unapproachable and mean. They can be very affectionate animals but I can tell you they like people better than they like other dogs. de redhead 02-17-06, - 05:17 PM The only correlation that I can see between pitbulls and racism may be that in the States it is the dog of choice for GhettoThugg guys, trying to project a bad boy image, whether they are the real deal or not. Many people have been hurt by the animals belonging to people as they teach them to be unapproachable and mean. They can be very affectionate animals but I can tell you they like people better than they like other dogs. Yeah that's very true. My cousin loves pitbulls and has bred them for quite a few years. Walking one of his dogs can be an adventure if other dogs are around. He once had a dog that would trot along seemingly oblivious to all the other dogs barking at him, but if he felt threatened or saw a chance to break free, someone's dog was dead, any dog no matter how big or bad it was. When he lived in Freeport and my daughter visited his house all the time I used to tell him that if one of his dogs hurt my daughter I would come there and kill all of them. Since then I have had the chance to spend more time with his dogs and do not consider them to be a threat to her or any other guest in that house. I still feel that he has the wrong attitude regarding possible incidents involving his dogs. He feels that if a person bothers his dog and is bitten it is their problem. I try to tell him that it is his problem, because if any pitbull serw iously injures a person in this country, the owner will be prosecuted. He doesn't seem to get this and I hope he never has to find out. CG 02-17-06, - 06:36 PM What about the "good ol' boys" in places like Tennessee that use Pit Bulls to guard their Moonshine? I think my post, number 33, just about sums up the whole issue - as far as most folks go. Happily, there are some folks that know how to handle dogs, no matter what the breed, but there are not many when it comes to Pits'. Crazycoyo 02-17-06, - 06:46 PM We need to make owners of pitbulls watch the Dog Whisper :D but seriously most of these dogs are only dangerous because of how they were mistreated. On my way to school sometimes theres this guy knocking around his dogs on ponciana dr. It scares me to think if what if they get out of there.
