View Full Version : PLP candidates Experienced or just plain Crooks
watsayu 03-14-07, - 10:30 AM Bahamians are waiting to see the list of PLP candidates for the up coming general elections. I am of the view that yes most of the current members of parliament will run once more for their party. I am also of the view that given the embarrassment that was caused by the majority of them, to run them once more would be a slap in the face of Bahamians who are basically Christians and up hold to a moral compass.
But we know the PLP way of thinking; God gave this country to the PLP so they are of the view that they have the divine authority to carry on as they please, regardless. Recently, I was in a discussion with a few PLP diehards; it was based on who in the PLP should not run and who should be asked to retire in the public interest.
The list of names that we agreed to was as follows:
1. Roberts, Bradley
2. Stubbs, Sidney
3. Smith, Keod
4. Gibson, Kenyatta
5. Wisdom, Neville
6. Peet, Vincent
7. Grey, (real surname is Joseph) V. Alfred
8. Gibson, Shane
The Names that we could not agree to were:
1. Nottage, Bernard - Deaths in the dialysis unit
2. Mitchell, Fred - Visa issue with no proper explanation
3. Pratt, Cynthia - Death of prison officer, prisoner and related matters
4. Martin, Glynsis - five (5) baggage handlers
5. Sears, Alfred - Mess at Education, mess in AG’s Office
6. Gibson, Maynard - Announcing Bahama deal, and LNG project and getting millions from them
7. Pinder, Ron - Violating US, security and sneaking on Bahamas air
8. Miller, Leslie - So much but most of all his disrespect for collective responsibility
9. Christie, Perry - Totally ignorant of what is happening around him
There are more of them that may have committed the sins of indiscretion against their oath to defend and uphold the laws of their honourable status.
Yet given the record of this Christie led PLP Government I am of the firm belief that maybe all will be re nominated. I further believe and now call up on all sense of right and wrong Bahamians to register in large numbers in these last days before the election and on Election Day to send a clear message to them all that enough is enough.
What Say You?

All valid points, but subject to everyone's opinion.
I reject the reference to Glenys Hanna Martin though. The baggage handlers have all pleaded guilty, except one. If you're gonna knock GHM, do it for the condition of the roads and traffic, the condition of the airport and her handling of the United Star/Sea Hauler accident
diarra 03-14-07, - 12:07 PM i say all guilty by association! Crooks!!!!!!!!!

all valid points, but it was not so important that they were guilt or not guilty.. the very fact that these guys plead guilty suggest that our government negated its primary responsibility to a foreign power and as such.. each and every Bahamian must now ask the question, what else is this government surrendering to any other foreign power... this is serious and ghm, is totally out of order. Here also the Attorney General, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and definitely the PM and the Minister responsible for National Security...
licks2 03-14-07, - 01:14 PM I would not call Perry, Sears and c. b. moss crooks...except by association!

I'll accept your statement not to call Messrs Moss and Sears crooks but I cannot include Prime Minister Christie in that lot. Minister Christie blatantly got involved in trying to clear up some scandals involving Members of his party and, in the process, made a number of rather egregious statements relative thereto.
1. When MPs Kenyetta Gibson and Koed Smith fought in the Cabinet Office, the Prime Minister, days after the incident, still declared that there was no fight between the two even though this had become a matter of public knowledge with media outlets sharing intricate details of this sordid affair.
2. The Shane Gibson/Anna Nicole Smith Saga only made the PM appear to be more of a liar than one would have thought because he consistently denied a number of accusations made against the former Minister which later proved to more truth than lies. He denied that the Mr. Gibson ever received a cheque from Anna Nicole Smith yet two lawyers insisted that they were present when Anna gave Mr. Gibson the cheque while he was standing in her bedroom.
3. The Prime Minister also denied that Anna ever gave Shane any gifts including a rather expensive Rolex watch even after, according to Hubert Ingraham, Shane admitted to the PM, and other leading party officials, that he had received the watch and had had it appraised. Note that no party official has come forward to deny or challenge Mr. Ingraham's claims relating to this scandal.
Mr. Christie has to be capital "crook" to lie so blatantly to the Bahamian people. Personally, I don't believe he just started telling these obvious untruths either. I am convinced that he has been doing it for a while particularly when it comes to covering up for his party's screw-ups.
Sears, on the other hand, was just plain incompetent and lousy. He ought to take full responsibility for 'biitching' up the preparations for the new school term and not ensuring that contracts were issued swiftly and that competent contractors were utilized to ensure efficiency and prevent procrastination. If a hurricane had occurred he would have had a valid excuse to justify the delay (and the trailers) but nothing happened; the weather was perfect and he still screwed up.

I fail to see how any of that makes him a crook ...
It doesn't appear he actually did anything illegal himself ..??

Everyone lies, that doesn't make everyone a crook.
But, telling lies is what Politicians do, there is not 1 single politician in the world that has not lied during their time as a politician. What exactly defines a lie though? Could it just be a fib? Well to each their own ... I lie every day .. im going to stop posting to these watsayu threads cause they are getting soooo old now .. but see .. hey .. I just lied again .. Im no crook though! Are you? Most of your threads are compacted with lies .. :dancer:
