View Full Version : Did Fred help destroy Sir Lynden?
pharoah 03-17-07, - 07:20 PM I am reading a suppliment in the Tribune on Fred Mitchell. In the Special report, it has quoted Fred Mitchell as saying this about Sir lynden:''It is time that the Bahamian people consign him to the scrap heap of history.'' That was in december 1990!
My lord. even in 1990 the snake call Fred was calling Sir lynden, a relic, not to be praise but to be thrown on the 'scrap' heap of history. Wow!
Now for political and racist ends Fred and the PLP is trying to blame the FNM for Sir Lynden demise. Yet in the 90's Fred sent the ashes of a recently burn copy of the Bahamian constitution to Sir Lynden to symbolize how he was ''destroying'' the Bahamas! Unbelievable but true!
On July 29 1987 Fred Mitchell is quoted as saying at Kiwanis AM Club that the black over the hill business man had disappeared under Sir Lynden's goverment with the exception of a liquor merchant.
Well back then Fred had some powerful words to his present boss Perry Christie after he ''swam back to his vomit'' after leaving the PLP in the aftermath of the Commission of Inquiry.
Here is what he had to say about Christie: ''He ought to be ashamed of himself walking around with his head high callinh himself Mr Centreville. we find tremendous resentment on the part of young and old because, without so much as a by-your leave, he ends up back in the Progressive Liberal Party.''
As you might have imagine the PLP had some choice words for Fred Mitchell relative to him burning a copy of the constitution: ''Nothing in the line of secular documents can be more sacred than the country's constitution. Mr Mitchell advocates destroying it,clearly,by extension,he is promoting anarchy and national upheaval.''
''This cannot and will not be tolerated in this country. Our PEOPLE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THIS TYPE OF IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR, coming, especially as it does, from one who dares to aspire to the sacred office of Prime mMnister of this beloved country.''
That quote sums up it up all. Fred don't respect nothing, except his own ambition. If it means dividing this country along racial lines,so be it. Hang your head in shame Fred, HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME...
Quotes are from The Tribune: MARCH 17TH 2007.

Based on what you have just quoted it appears as if Mr. Mitchell is loyal to no one except his ambitions, however misguided they are. In short he will align himself where he feel he can further his personal agenda. Remember he was once a FNM Senator
Genia 03-17-07, - 10:42 PM I found that article enlightening. Just goes to show that U have 2 b careful of what you say particularly if its written down in the newspapers. People will tend to recall it.

Entertaining indeed...but lets analyse help destroyed...In 1990 Sir Lynden was still prime minister...still in his prime, there were no signs of any wavering...therefore the criticism of Sir Lynden in 1990 cannot and should not assigned as being "helping to destroy Sir Lynden" if so, then criticisms in 1980 and 1970 should also be considered as being "helping to destroy Sir Lynden." It is all a matter of Syntax.
But Fred Mitchell was good for the Bahamas back then...now...sux teeth...he just like Ingraham and Christie...just a bag of hot air!

If canewry can respond with common sense, then so can we.
I think we forget that HI was on the other side of the fence, and was instrumental in winning, effectively I may add, for the PLP before he went FNM.
With that, Fred is a political animal and he was not even a PLP until very recently. Anyone can change policy and this is what strong democracies promote. Fred has probably never ever been victimized, because he is strong in standing up for what he believes and sticks by it, even if he may turn out to be in a position, where he would have to moderate his opinions.
If we hold every politician into account, for what he said in the heat of battle we would have to dismiss every single politician in the house. Fred spoke what he felt, and that is what matters in a democracy. You are allowed to change your position.
:)

if he started cursin the church, would it still be ok .. :escape:

Would he cuss in Church?
I don't think that is equivalent. But, speaking your mind, as you clearly do even as stupid as you sound most of the time, is perfectly ok.
I think there is a pile on, on Fred for two things.
1. Because many think he is gay
2. Because he is one of the few University graduates, who happened to attend Harvard.
3. Because he has come from the bottom, to the top and dane to show you how and why he has made it.
It is unfair to him, just as much as any attack on anyone. Discriminating against him, because he is smarter than the average Bahamian is hate.
Stop and think about when you pile on, about why you pile on.

why do they think he is gay? I never got that impression, but then i dont listen to him anyway ..
rumrunner 03-18-07, - 12:01 PM YK Rory ask about cursin at the church not cussin inside the church. And I feel that they are equivalent since they are both institutions.
