View Full Version : Bowling Alley set for Harrold Road/TWD Highway..
gian_18778 03-23-07, - 11:21 AM Just heard a few moments ago that a bowling alley is set for construction in the near future.
Good news I think, now it gives family members and others, another avenue for recreational activities. I just hope that the security is like the airport because nothing these young people like to do more, than shut down and break-up these type of facilities.

I remember hearing the same thing many years back after the first one was closed. they had said it would be in the now SummerWinds plaza. Good thing I didn't hold my breath then...and I wouldn't hold my breath now either. :voodoo:
NetConnect 03-24-07, - 04:58 PM Three years ago, I looked into the prospects of doing the same thing, building a bowling comlex in Nassau. The price is astronomical.
2-3 million for just the lanes and equipment (balls, shoes, wooden alleys, mechanisms...etc.) and that was before the property and building.
I would love to see it happen here, and especiall on Harold Road. This would bring local dollars as well as tourist dollars, not to mention (if it was to par) tournament dollars. Bowling is a big money making sport. (if you can keep the punks out, because they usually have the 50 cent games, pin ball, poker, and the list goes on).
Also, a bar and food, another thing that would attract us. I am all for it, just would not want to have to manage it, without proper security 24 / 7 / 365, as bowling alleys are generally of this venue.

OUCH!!
That is expensive, however, I think that it's still a worthwhile investment. Firstly, there are over 200 thousand people in New Providence, mainly women and children, and also there's a growing need for some alternative family activites to do around here.
I figure if you invest say $10 Million for everything (lanes, balls, shoes, wooden alleys, property, building, game room, consession/F&B area, pool tables etc..etc..etc...), you should be able to make good on your investment in 5yrs at least.

Good question. Right now my info is sketchy at best, but I'm looking into it to see if I can get more details.

The very same person who owns the property where the pool hall & robin hood are located.
