Does the PLP not have the ballz to say that they have no canidates worthy of opposing former FNM, Tennyson Wells in Bamboo or former FNM, James Miller in Long Island?
The PLP have an overwhelming amount of seats in the House. Why are they denying their own supporters the right to vote for them in ONLY 2 constiuencies instead of giving those voters a choice they may not want to have to make in order to vote?
Is the PLP sending a message that a vote for those independent canidates is a vote for the PLP?
I remember stories of what happened in 1987 when voters of Anne's Town where suspected of voting in other constituencies. Imagine that, 3-4 thousand people with no where to vote. At this moment I canot remember the circumstances surrounding that incident but I get back to that matter soon.
The PLP have put a canidate against the only other independent to run in the election that being Whitney Bastian in South Andros. Why?
What did Tennyson do that Whitney did not do?
I think Tennyson is one of the few 'PLP's' who are up to now scandal free.
It is my hope that our election result will be so close that no party has more than 4 or 5 seats over the other.
Except for 1987 when the PLP had 25 and the FNM had 15 and Hubert and Perry were the only independents we have not had good oppositions. Ashamedly, we as a people should have been the most vocal and vicious opposition but alas we, apparantly have been reared to be like sheep.
We are as exposed and as well read or as savvy as any other country in the world, but we seem happy to have and keep governments around who screw us HARD without even a kiss.
We live and breath politics so much so that we can only see the wrong that the other party is doing. We say if is alright for that party to do something, it is also alright for the next party to do it. We NEVER seem to send the message that if something was wrong then, it is still wrong now.
Imagine if you will. You work in a office with a co-worker. You see your co-worker get away with all sorts of stuff, for years. Your boss finally gets fed up. He fires your co-worker and gives you his job. A year later, you are doing the same stuff your former co-worker did and got fired for. When your boss calls you in the office and remind you of the reasons he fired your co-worker will you ask your boss to give you the SAME long rope he gave your former co-worker? No way, are you NUTS!! Your boss will tell you that he is now older and wiser and not about to put up with any old crap, no, not any more at least.
We, the people are that boss. The government is that new co-worker.
I say we vote them suckers out whenever we feel they are taking us down the wrong path and taking us for granted. This country has been running itself anyway for a while now. We really don't need them.
I helped to vote this government in. I felt assured that with Christie's ethics policy, I would have not seen the likes of Keod Smith, Shane Gibson, Leslie Miller or Kenyatta Gibson as canidates in this election.
They have said loudly and clearly to hell with me and what I think, it is all about them. I heard them, loud and clear.
