I mean, not one traffic cop over the whole 2 weeks of christmas and new years, I didnt see 1 at all, driving all over nassau, eastern, western, palmdale etc.

I guess they were all on bay street playing drums and horns! If they concentrate more on fighting crime or traffic ofenses maybe things will get a little better here. Do they join the police force to learn and train how to play the drums!!!! If so, what a strange police force!

Did anyone else notice that just about everyone was running the red lights during tha day, even right in front of traffic that had the right of way (green light). I couldnt believe my eyes, and this went on for days. Then not to mention the drunk drivers day and night!!!

Basically people didnt see any cops so they simply did what they wanted, i think it may have stopped now because I have seen a few traffic cops just today. What do you think, were the 4 or 5 total traffic cops (ok maybe more just looks that way!) they have on this island, all on vacation!??

It really looks like the bahamas police force, is more interested in 'looking good' or 'posing' then getting down and dirty, on a whole, and im not talking about individual officers as there are most of those that do a hard and dangerous job, for little pay. In fact I saw quite a few regular cops around, just not one traffic cop, which for a holiday season with so many drunk drivers, is strange.

You know you dont see the police until the cameras come. They shouldn't just make "suprise" patrols they should be there every time 24/7 then citizens will fell there presence and maybe they wont be so bold. When Mr.Mbeki came to freeport all i saw was police on every corner of the route. I mean I never saw so much police in my life. if they could do that, then why can't they have proper police patrol. I hope its not money.
