This is starting to sound like South Central LA where they kill you for your shoes... Now we'll see how long it takes to get the perpetrator through the court system. I'm going to bet it takes 1 year before he is sentenced. Rest in peace, sir. pharoah 04-04-07, - 02:51 PM I am not going to tell you any lie. When i read the Guardian it brought me to tears. What's next? A dollar man!!! proudplp 04-04-07, - 02:57 PM Over a dollar?! This is starting to sound like South Central LA where they kill you for your shoes... CG 04-04-07, - 03:14 PM :what: very sad over a dollar man........ That seems to be the value of a human life - to some folks. Alien 04-04-07, - 04:00 PM This was one time where I was nearly brought to tears, over something I had read. This is absolutely insane. I do not know what to say. The Bahamas has failed. It has not risen to the challenge of being a good black democracy. Perry Christie, hubert Ingraham and the family of the late L.O. Pindling, should be ashamed of themselves. LO's family for him not addressing the problem to it's core. Hubert Ingraham and his first team, in making the situation worse with their social services and education policy And for Christie and his administration, and his lack lustre attempt to fix it. It is wasting money, because the leadership he has around the team has sh1t for brains. Now it makes Melanie Griffins charge for battered women, and her charge to end domestic violence null and void. If our young men are being killed on the streets, then who will be next? The women of course. We have a serious problem. Rory 04-04-07, - 05:38 PM man this is just sick ... the sad thing is the murderer is probably a repeat offender and may probably only get a couple years in prison .. remember those guys that attacked me with home made axes .. yeah they had just got out of prison and told me to give them a dollar .. i told them no and they attacked .. i was lucky though .. this poor guy was not .. oh yeah they only got 17 months in prison, if that. Now i carry weapons everywhere (for self defense), cause it aint gonna happen again ... fasttract 04-04-07, - 05:38 PM http://www.thenassauguardian.com/national_local/288578598016247.php I would like to know why no one was hang for the pass five years. these KILLERS know that they can take a person life and go into early retirment in prision, were they don't have to work for a living, eating, drinking, barthing and sleeping for free have a good time untell old age and they die, come on! chancellor 04-04-07, - 05:42 PM I would like to know why no one was hang for the pass five years. Because as Mr. mcKinney said...the system is broken. And you know it is broken when you have criminals...murderers who can successfully challenge his own death sentence before the Privy Council and win. diarra 04-04-07, - 05:48 PM This was one time where I was nearly brought to tears, over something I had read. If our young men are being killed on the streets, then who will be next? The women of course. We have a serious problem. Well said. Very well said. I can't agree with u more on those exact points. There must of been some other factors that precipitated this unfortunate incident tho. I just can't believe a frickin dollar provoked such rage; then again in remembering the attitude of many of my peers who really believe that "money or murder" sort of philosophy maybe this is all indicative of that. chancellor 04-04-07, - 05:51 PM It may have been more, but you know there are words that can start wars. and around here, all you need to do is call someone a haitian....among other things. Even then it's less than childish. Rory 04-04-07, - 07:08 PM Well said. Very well said. I can't agree with u more on those exact points. This is starting to sound like South Central LA where they kill you for your shoes... i guess you dont remember the outbreak of violence over oakes, and g-shocks (boy, gettin jumped that time wasnt fun). that type of situation isnt new. gian_18778 04-04-07, - 09:55 PM i guess you dont remember the outbreak of violence over oakes, and g-shocks (boy, gettin jumped that time wasnt fun). that type of situation isnt new. I remember the Oakes episodes well. I believe a guy died for oakes some years ago as well. I believe it's way worse now, there's no regard for life anymore, no matter who you are. Like I said sometime back on this site, the Bahamas is in a *Pre-Anarchy* mode, and in a couple of yrs. if things do not change, and change now, it's gonna be an all-out war around here! Who gets who first! Get ya gun and protect yaself and ya family, cuz nobody's safe! casualobserver 04-04-07, - 10:05 PM I remember the Oakes episodes well. This uniter could be a person or an incident, but all of a sudden every Bahamian realizes that there is a threat somewhere that is larger than the rather petty issues of politics and race in the Bahamas. When 9/11 happened, the US gelled together as a nation for a period of time. Too bad that high a concentration of stupid people ended up wrecking relations with most of the world, but at first the country was united. Either through love or danger, the Bahamas must come together. It's up to us to determine which it will be... |
