We're looking to get something on Long Island (Andros is our second option)... house on or near the beach or vacant land. Cash purchase with a close in June. We'll be on island for the first two weeks of June.
Its been tough seeing what's available because the realtors only show us their own listings. It also seems that there may be a big difference between what properties are "listed for" and what they actually sell for.
One realtor showed me a piece of land she's had listed for 3 years. At the end of each year, when the land hasn't sold, the owner raises the price by 50-100%. Go figure.
Any advice out there?
