Sunday rises on a fallen solider,
Everyday the war keeps getting older,

He reaches out his hand,
To a fellow fallen man,
But his friend is gone,
Now he’s all alone,

There is no time to cry,
As the bombs fall from the sky,
So he moves on,
Trying to be strong,

Sunday rises on a fallen solider,
Everyday the world keeps getting colder,

And as he fought some more,
He began to ask what he was fighting for,
As he passed the dead,
And the ashes fell upon his head,
He said: “Lord I just can’t take this anymore”,

The solider dropped his gun,
And with a smiling face,
He began to run,

no more wasting precious time,
And all on his mind,
Was the home he left behind,

But this would come to be,
A home he’ll never see,

For this solider died that day,
From gunshots as he ran away,
Now he's gone,
The war goes on.

Sunday rises on another fallen solider,
Everyday this news keeps getting older.
