Should prostitution be legalized?

Let's define prostitution in our discussion as the provision of sexual favours for money or other value.

I'll start by saying that sex is the only thing I know about that you can give away as much as you like but if you try to sell it they will arrest you.

Is maintaining prostitution as illegal not another means of men, for the most part, controlling what women can do with their bodies?
