whatever it is, amounts to something that could have been better spent for sure.

It does to me. I have a good idea how much Barak, Hllary and McCain raised to spend on their Presidential campaigns. You can't donate more than $2000 directly to any party.

If folks have the money to spend, good for them.

Why can't I know the dollar amounts spent on the campaign?

I wouldn't go that far, but I would say that it does need to be regulated how much money they can accept from one source. Cuz I don't even have to see the numbers to know that its out of control...Harajchi, 90, Bay Street, etc.

I think the amounts spent on an election needs to be detailed. Instead of putting a cap on the money spent. Putting a cap on the money, just puts the idea of other variables comming in as payment; look at the amount of trips and such, lobbyist pay for on American politicans.

In the amount spent details the important stuff, for example ads, t-shirts promotions and the line items, that should be marked off at a certain amount of expenditure. I do not know how much for t-shirts, but a good t-shirt costs at least 5 bucks. And the rest yadda yadda yadda....

You get my drift.

Because we do not need to do everything the U.S. does. The U.S. spends less on the poor; do you want to do that too?

I am so sick and tired of people saying "well America does it, then so should we". I just think that is so lazy to say.

I am not saying we have to follow foot-to-foot behind the US. That is a big part of our problem now.

Still it would be nice if we had election campaign amounts detailed, Even YOU said dat!

I een say do what the U.S. do, it een about the fack dat you was right or wrong, it is about the concept behind why you think it is right; because I cud see Barack and Hillary money.

With that, I did say we need to categorize what is spent, but not the way the U.S. does it because they say we should.

I heard someone say something on the radio today - it was a retired member of Parliament. He said (paraphrase) "When this election is over who will be running the country? - and I don't mean a PLP or an FNM." He was questioning who is giving all this money to the parties? And what do they want in exchange? What promises have been made and to whom? The thing is we don't know who the "whom" is!!!! So who will be running it from behind the bank book?

It pains me to thing we have the best country that money can BUY!!!!!
