1) The FNM when they came to power had intentions of abolishing price control and rent control. So they stop enforcing the laws as it pertains to price control. This was the advice given to special interest groups that financed their campaign. They believed in market forces. But the price of food was escalating so fast that they later decided to enforce it temporarily. All in all the FNM did nothing to aid in the protection of consumers!!!!
2) The FNM has a strong philosophical belief in market forces. They believe that we should copy the US model where market forces determine the price of goods and services. But the problem is the Bahamian economy is too small and not diverse enough for market forces to be effective!!!!! In the Bahamas a small handful of wholesalers and retailers almost monopolize the market. If market forces were truly implemented the price of goods will escalate out of control and poor Bahamians will be most affected!!!
3) The FNM believe in a Top Down method of stimulating the economy. In other words they are a Government for the wealthy. The Top down method of stimulating the economy is as follows: The FNM would provide incentives for Big businesses to expand and in turn these big businesses will hire average Bahamians basically at very low wages!!!! So the Big businessman gets the whole pie and the average Bahamian gets the crumbs that fall of the table!!
The problem with this method is that it is never proven to be as effective as the Bottoms up approach as advocated by Mr. Pindling and the PLP. The Bottoms up approach attempt to empower the average Bahamian to become wealthy by providing incentives for them to open and sustain businesses. To make things simple if you give a rich man 10 million dollars to expand his business and hire 100 people at $300 a week. He most likely would put would bank 5 million and hire only 50 people at $200 dollars a week!!!! You see rich businessmen only think about profit and loss and they almost never think about the welfare of their staff!! But if you give a poor man ten million dollars he would purchase goods and services from the rich man such as cars, hardware, furniture groceries, real estate etc. and everybody would benefit. (the rich and the poor) The wealthy are more likely to conserve if given this money the poor will not, but it is spending that keeps the economy running!!!
4) The FNM is a government that has been proven not to listen to the voice of the people that put them there!!! If any of their policies are not good for the majority in this country, they will implement them anyway as they are highly advised by special interest groups who do not have the interest of the majority at heart!! They believe in running a country like a business and they have said this. This approach may be good in some respect but the problem is in running a country you are dealing with Human beings with human needs. Their approach to governance is cold heartless and calculated!!! This is the reason Hubert Ingraham was attacked on Parliament square. He would not listen to the people who put him there and was cold and calculating.
5) The Financial backers of the FNM are secretly racists but they present a good face before the public. They understand fully that they never must be perceived that way. These people are not interested in helping the majority of Bahamians but they want power and they will do whatever it takes to get it!!
If you think that they cannot influence Hubert think again……. How were they able to get a confirmed racist like Sir Stafford Sands on the currency of a majority Black Nation???? Even the Former COB President Higgs confirmed that He was a racist by saying QUOTE: Sir Stafford might be a racist but he is a Bahamian!!! The FNM essentially saluted a racist man and gave him the Highest honor in the land of a Black majority by putting on the 10 dollar bill. The PLP ofcourse took him off. Hubert obviously was influenced by these former UBP’s and can be influenced again!!!
The term we getting our country back was a phrase that stemmed from these former UBP’s because in 1967 they felt they lost their country and whenever the FNM wins they get it back. Word to the FNM…. This country is NEVER lost or won!!!! This country always belonged to the people!!!!!! NOBODY LOSES THE COUNTRY THE PEOPLE VOTE YOU IN AND THEY VOE YOU OUT!!!!! EITHER WAY THE COUNTRY IS PROPERTY OF THE PEOPLE AND NOT SOME SPECIAL INTERST GROUP!!
6) Under the FNM one of the largest legalization exercises took place in Bahamian history. Hubert said anyone residing here over 10 years will be legalized!!! The line was turning corners!!! You see the FNM way of solving the illegal immigration problem is to legalize as many as they can. And I am not referring to work permits, I am referring to permanent residency and citizenship!!!! But this does not solve the problem!!! The reason we can’t take as many people as the US is because the economy is small can only produce a certain amount of jobs per year. The FNM is partly responsible for the unemployment rate!!!! They are also partly responsible for increased crime rate and increased health care and all the problems illegal immigrants bring!!! The MUDD and Pigeon Pea Communities flourished under Hubert’s leadership!!!! Big Businessmen wanted cheap labour so they hired Haitians over Bahamians. I heard 7 out of every 10 Haitians vote will go to the FNM. HUBERT ADVISED THAT ANYONE MISTAKENLY APPREHENDED TO SUE THE GOVERNMENT!!!! In saying that I KNOW that Hubert never intends to solve the immigration problem!!!! If elected they probably will pretend to solve the problem for the first six months!!! After that the Illegal immigrants will be dancing in the streets!!!!
7) My sources tell me that Hubert only wants to hold power for 18 months and then turn the leadership over to Brent. If that is the case the leadership issue would a completely false premise and outright deception!!!!
They are voting for a man who may very well not lead them!!!! Why vote for proven leadership if Hubert is not going to lead. Then we are left with unproven leadership in Brent.
But is Brent the man we Bahamians really want to lead us. We already proven that he is corrupt and heartless (he stole innocent Bahamians land) and has no plan for the people of the inner city!! And to top it off he is the son of a racist premier!!!! The same man who said Black people cannot walk down Shirley Street after certain times!!! I spoke to a woman who worked for him and she confirmed to me that he is racist just like his father!! But he tries hard to hide it!! Is Brent really the man we want to lead a Black majority??? I do not mind a white Prime Minister but not this one with such a tainted past!!! I would vote for Bill Clinton to lead before I vote for Brent. At least I know he is not racist!!
