I registered for my first election in 1996, I think. But no I never vote, they need absentee ballot.

I think if Bahamians abroad were to register to vote, it would have a strong impact on the entire political process in The Bahamas. As the persons are not in the country to see for themselves what is being done, it can lead many to go on hearsay; then again it can persuade many of them to do their own research and decide based on their findings.

Either way, I think it would be interesting, and something that should be looked into.

Sometimes I think those of us outside the country know the REAL story better than those in the country. :D

We have no choice but to dig and search out tons of sources to get the 411. We also have the benefit from being set back from the situation so we can see things more objectively.

Wanna talk about "swing voters?" If they ever instituted absentees ballots, that would be a HUGE swing vote. Hard to influence somebody with a T-shirt, pop-pom or fridge who is miles away! LOL

well, checkit out.. Many of the FNM students in Canada has banned togather and in large numbers they will be coming home today, tomorrow and on sunday to Vote FNM.. in large numbers....

When HI was in Exuma a couple weeks ago he said he would purchased the tickets of those construction workers who need to come back nassau to vote..
now airline tickets from canada to nassau ain't as cheap as a family island so i don't know who purchasing them set..maybe their parents more than likely.(yea right).hey watsayu ..u seem to like percentages what percentage of students coming in from ca. to vote?

If they had absentee ballots, whoever in the ruling party would lose.
