That disappeared ages ago. And some would argue on whether they deserve, much less demend respect. And if the candidates (including...err..Hubert and Perry) do the same, what do you expect from supporters and opposers?

it's respect for their posts & positions.....not the man himself.

and if that is so, shouldn't they be both be addressed as : The Right Honourable [insert name here]?

Why do so many forget that these two people are below them.

They are not to be held up and revered - they are simply people you chose, by vote, to work for you. They are employees of yours. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think one of the main problems this country suffers from is holding these people, and the MP's and ministers so high up that no one dares question them (obviously the folk in these positions perpetuate this to keep the people down)

Wake up, people.

These guys work for you! Call them anything you want. You hired them, you pay them. They ain't some high and mighty untouchables, you know.

And if they f*ck up their jobs, then *you* have to make sure they are fired.

Part of the reason this country is in crisis is due to the fact that the people of the Bahamas are either too apathetic to stand up to these people, or too in awe of them.

Neither is acceptable.

I do. I mentioned this to some friends the other day and they were looking at me like i was crazy.

Some people don't call their parents mommy and daddy..they call them by their first names..what do you expect??

I don't often agree with you yk2bad, but I do this time! Even newscasters call people in high position by just the surname sometimes, like Christie, Hanna Martin, etc. No Mr or Mrs. I think it is really bad but thought it was just me! It seems so disrespectful.

I heard a caller on Steve Mckinney show calling both men by their first name.....I wanted to slap him. Steve should have hung up. No manners pig.

99% of bosses I know call their employees by their first names... Why you all so crazy about changing it for these guys?

Some of you say its a mark of respect, yet on this forum you call one or the other every name under the sun, accuse them of every type of treachery... then whine like children when someone calls them by their given name?
