The kind of activity the PLP has been getting into this election season does not do much for them in the minds of the true swing voters who will decide this election

Dr. Paul Reilly noted international columnist recently had a broadcast about the PLP's use of Racism in the election.

see and hear it here

How is the bahamas ever going to get international credibility when people of this stature internationally broadcast these things about our govt.

Has anyone heard the new PLP ad that focuses on Brent Symmonette? In my view it has some strong racial undertones.

If the PLP were racist and making all kinds of racist remarks..don't you think the few white bahamian candidates would stand up??Do you think they would want to be involved in a party thats racist??Some people are reading too much into this whole racist issue!

You need to check your sources again, all some nutty peeps are doing is calling Marquis (spelling) a racist .. see the other threads here also with links to those articles posted in example: the Bahama Journal. PLUS, they didnt call him a black man and how the black man been doing this or that etc etc etc you get the drift, it was NOT directed to anyone but him as the minister of immigration, not the color of his skin. SO SAID SO DONE!

Dr Reilly is an internationally respected radio personality. He has always spoke his mind. It is also true that the PLP is using racism in a last desperate attempt to gain votes. It only speaks to the fact that the PLP insiders know that the PLP is on the verge of losing this election. They are lagging behind in every conceivable way. They are always one step behind the FNM. They have so far lost the battle of the rallies and they are losing in the polls.

Perry Christie should be ashame of himself to stoop to such a low. It really has shown the Bahamas what kind of man we have for a Prime Minister. He speaks of religion and brotherhood in one side of his mouth and in the same breath spew division and racism. Only this time the world knows! What a disgrace! I CRY SHAME ON THEM!

What is so embarrassing is that the PLP is slapping a few of their candidates in the face. It is a strategy that will only solidify the white vote behind the FNM. It will backfire! The rest of the black base is solid...The PLP tried this during their convention and the FNM base has increase tremendously.

If we can't agree on facts, then the discussion unfortunately comes to a sad end – and becomes a meaningless fight that is impossible to resolve.

OK Priya lets give them the benefit of the doubt..What exactly does Mr.Christie mean when he asks his followers to chant all those no going back to "those" days slogans? And why are they dwelling on Brent Symonette and his people? I bet there are some children of former UBP's in his party too. Has he been back to their home towns and determined that they have ALWAYS been so open minded? At a "rally" in my community the PLP speaker told his "listeners" that "they" brought Ingraham back to take the Bahamas back to "those days". Maybe you can explain who "they" are and what are "those days"! From where I sit and listen the PLP campaign sounds like a scare tactic! Like preachers do with "the end of the world" sermons to scare people into "getting saved"! As a Bahamian I am appalled when I hear those ads on radio, knowing that visitors to our country hear them too. What must they think? And as a mother I am outraged because my child suffers and will continue to suffer the fallout of these anti-white sentiments!
