1bigfrog 04-28-07, - 09:38 AM Went to Abaco the other day and met a few white PLPs...I was shock...I didn't know that they existed. They were all yellow up. I was kind of overwhelmed but titalated by the spectacle. So, nosey me gone ask this young white fella what he means by no turning back...what he knows about that?
Ya boy had the heart to tell me that a vote for Brent is moving back to the UBP days...Boy I tell ya...So you know just jixing ya boy up I asked...and you white...aint that a good thing...Then this young bey who only about 24 tell me that white Bahamians started the PLP to fight againts the injustices of the UBP thinking people as they were holding poor whites, especially islanders and black people down...
Wow...an ephiphany?

To me, No turning back refered to the FMN - mostly!

No I did not. But now that others have mentioned it perhaps they have a point but to me it meant FNM times - that is how I read it.
Alien 04-28-07, - 10:18 AM You are all racist for feeding into this idiocy LOL...
The Bahamian independence was a joint event. Just so happens that the PLP, had one nut to crack and had to get rid of the racist regime in the UBP. Not all whites were racist, but the UBP sure as hell for the most part used race to keep power.

Well now many are now realizing it that the Bay street boys was not really about race as it was about greed! And i have been trying to clarify that in essence it has always been in the Bahamas about money. You see even many black Bahamians were in the clique. You see it was just convenient to keep the majority of black people poor and uneducated to continue in their greed. Now the PLP propaganda was two fold.
The PLP would tell their white supporters that the UBP was greedy and corrupt. While telling the black population that they were both racist and corrupt. So when the PLP use UBP relative to Brent, the over tones is one of black suppression and racism.
Perhaps now many can appreciate why i have always said that greed is the over whelming desire in the Bahamas. There was no real racism as it was in the United State and South Africa. The racist policy was base on ''racist economics'' as opposed to real hatred and bigotry!

ummm...were there any black bay street boys...
and when Milo Butler gained his real money...did the Bay Street boys let him join the club..
We all know the answer to that...clearly race was an issue...
you'll mussy forget Milo holding one man protests down down...standing on white people them cars...getting arrested because of blantant racial discrimination...pharoah clearly you remember him threatening to draw off his thousands of dollars out of Royal Bank unless he see one black face...at that time he was amongst few black bahamians who had thousands...and who trusted banks.

Listen i never said that race was not an issue. It definetly was and ought to have been attacked and condemned but on the other hand a lot of white folks were crush under the UBP which lends to the the fact that more was involved. All i am saying is that greed played a significant role in all of that. Particularly as it relates to Sir Stafford Sands. Like i have said it was all mostly about greed and power!
michali 04-28-07, - 10:36 AM Interesting! I did not interpret "No Turning Back" as having racial undertones (I am white too!) I saw it as "we have come this far, we do not want to turn back now" or " no turning back to the FNM". Now the second one could have more far reaching implications of turning back to the UBP, but no-one with any sense would really consider that an option.....black or white. The country has come far too far to consider that a possibility.

Yes, but have you heard the recent PLP commercial about Brent and the famous Bob marley sound--Redemption. It leaves no doubt what the PLP was saying. Keep your radio on.
