BCC President slams PLP over Jesus ad

Newspaper columnists have accused the Progressive Liberal Party in the past of trying to portray itself as being closer to God than any other party.

Now, newly-elected president of The Bahamas Christian Council, Bishop John Humes is criticizing the party for the same thing.

Bishop Humes said he is concerned about a radio and newspaper ad that appears to link a vote for the PLP to a vote for Jesus Christ.

He said any attempt to make such a link is bordering on sacrilege. He said the person who wrote the ad should be ashamed of themselves.

This all started with misguided and obviously bias Bishop Neil Ellis in the 1997 election when he gaved his church members the belief that the FNM was the embodiment of Satan; and the PLP, the followers of Christ. Now the PLP or their followers are equating the PLP with Christ. It only takes a spark to get the garbage going. :tdown:
