View Full Version : Movie: The Passion of the Christ
Has anyone seen the movie, "The Passion of the Christ?" If so, tell me your impressions. I am not a Christian but I was moved by it.
If you have not seen it, go see it soon. Few movies, or books, have the power to move people - this is one that does. Every Christian should see it. Every Church should encourage their member to see it. It is the story of the death of Christ filmed as if you were really there. Don't miss it! You will be sorry if you do.

I will look forward to your impressions.
Prepare yourself, it is raw and as "real" as a movie can be.
Please be on the lookout to see if it is as Anti-Semitic as some say.

It's not as Anti-Semetic as some would have you believe.
I saw it on Friday night and it was wonderful. It was so real and emotional, I for one, was very moved. The movie stuck very closely to the actual account and wasn't all that over the top.
Many of the actors were not familiar to me as alot of them were Italian (as most of it was filmed in Rome), but they did a good job in the portrayl. All in all, I give it an A-.

Thanks for your report.
I did not find it Anti-Semetic but I wanted to hear from others.

Why wasn't Schindler's List by Steven Spielberg labeled Anti-Semetic?
The cruality towards Jews displayed in that movie was extra graphic and would make allot of folks look down on Germans.

The last thing you could call "Schindler's List" is Anti-Semitic? Maybe Anti-German but can something be "Anti" when it is the truth?
Anyhow, getting back to the movie at hand. Did you think the violence was a bit over done?
Delroy, you did not tell us what your impressions of the film was. Did you get a change to see it on Sunday?

That is a shame, but if there is any way to get there please do. It will be worth it. I would value your opinion on it.
Delroy 03-01-04, - 09:45 PM I will make an effort to see it tomorrow.
Vicky 03-02-04, - 06:15 AM We are going to wait till the crowd dies off a bit. But here is something I noticed when we did go to the movies to see a different movie.
The guy collecting tickets at the door asked that the people with tickets for the Passion of Christ movie to Back up and let the other movie goers through Because their movie was about to start. No one backed away from the door. These people call them selves Christians. I will give them this they were not violent or saying anything rude and least nothing I saw or heard. They just would not let other movie goers get in, even when asked to step aside.
CeeCee 03-03-04, - 12:30 AM I saw the movie on Saturday past and was so moved by it...I could not hold back the tears. This movie made me appreciate the love of God more and I hope to always think on the good that God has done for me. My only regret was that I didn't take any kleenex with me...I had to leave the room to get handtowels. There were plenty red eyes exiting the room after the movie and beleive me when I say there was A LOT of people...the response was outstanding, there was not an empty seat in the room that night I'm sure. If you've not seen it...you've got to!
