puckett 03-08-04, - 11:46 AM Have you ever wanted to debate the issues affecting our country with other youths, well you can now do that in a parliamentary type debate. The moderator of the room will act as "Mr.Speaker"! Persons in the room will be able to voice their concerns about current issues nationally and globally in this spirited debate. If you do not agree with what another member is saying, you could raise " a point of order" and debate with them if the speaker entertains it. THIS IS JUST LIKE REAL PARLIAMENT, ONLY YOU ARE DEBATING AND IT'S ALL AT YOUR COMPUTER!!!!
Join the room this Tuesday 9th March at 9:00 p.m.

To all interested, the Online Bahamas Youth Parliament is in full swing, each session over the last couple of weeks, the word is kinda getting out, and we have had new people come in each time.
From now on, so I don't have to keep posting, the honourable members of the Online Parliament passed the official dates and times for each week. We will meet each Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and each Wednesday at 9:00 p.m.
Come out and visit www.network54.com/chat/74414 and debate topics important to you!
If this grows good enough, in the summer, the members hope to meet in person, where we can hold a LIVE YOUTH PARLIAMENT!!!!!
Come to the debates and tune in!
We are about to establish parties, so when you come in type in the party acronym of our youth parliament before your login name, or you can remain an Independent. If you want to join a party, you should come into parliament first and get to know what the parties stand for.

puckett 07-20-04, - 09:00 AM Mr. Speaker, what is being debated this Wednesday?
Doesnt the sessions on Wednesday still begin at 9?
canesfins 10-27-04, - 08:10 PM Does anyone know when the debates are going to start again?
yes I would like to know when the next one will be as well.
Mr.Speaker 12-04-05, - 01:09 AM Hi, this is Mr. Speaker, the founder of the Online Bahamas Youth Parliament (OBYP).
The sessions were temporarily discontinued because of the poor attendance the Online Youth Parliament was experiencing. At the time the attendance was high we were considering a Real Live In Person Youth Parliament possibly hosted by COB. But the attendance started to fall, and we discontinued the sessions for awhile.
I would be delighted to start things up again, if it sounds like there is alot of youth that would be motivated to attend and debate.
If we can get some responses to this post, then we could set our debate for Sunday 11th December at 2:00 p.m.
I await your responses, to see if we have enough public support to resume our sessions.
If so, on Thursday 8th December, I will confirm the debate for the above date and time.
Many thanks.
