LONDON - If it really is what’s on the inside that counts, then a lot of thin people might be in trouble.

Some doctors now think that the internal fat surrounding vital organs like the heart, liver or pancreas — invisible to the naked eye — could be as dangerous as the more obvious external fat that bulges underneath the skin.

Interesting.

Anyway, I grew up with heart issues since I was 10 (or found out when I was 10). Now anyone who knows me know I'm not the biggest guy around to say the least (quite slender actually).

So when I had an ultrasound done on my heart the doctor was amazed (to no surprise to me at least) at the extremely low amount of body fat he saw, especially around my heart.

Umm. Doctor told me i had a heart murmur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_murmur), then a prolapsed mitral valve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitral_valve_prolapse), an enlarged Aorta and something called Marfan's syndrome. In any event I took meds and they told me most likely I would grow out of it. I haven't really had any issues since graduating Jr. high really.

But speaking about weight, I cant put on pounds for nothing I had to go to the gym and lift some weights to gain weight. Good thing was that I gained over 15 lbs in 3 months..then my membership went out and I never renewed :(.

 Shame on you! LOL...j/k

Moderation is key:) Have a chicken snack here and there, but eat more whole/unprocessed foods (fruits, veggies, lean meats, nuts and grains) than you do anything else. You should try juicing fruits and veggies for breakfast or snacks if you don't like chewing on vegetables. It'll give you a good energy boost for your dancing and such. You're also able to increase your 'produce intake' by juicing and making fresh smoothies. I juiced a bag of spinach, 5 large carrots, 3 apples and some green grapes 9am yesterday morning and it kept me full and energized 'til about 2ish that afternoon.

My family's health history has heart probs, diabetes and high blood pressure on both sides of the family:realmad:. So I totally understand your concern to be healthy. Good luck guys. Take small, consistent/progressive steps. It really is a fight:sparky:
