View Full Version : Racism on all sides of the racial divide...
bahamianpride 05-12-07, - 04:49 PM Anyone remember the YOUTUBE clip of Mr. Khallid Abdul Mohammed ranting and raving about whites and homosexuals...here's some more info on him....
VIDEO WITH SOUND

Last week I had posted a video at Progressive Urban Think Tank of Dr. Khallid Abdul Mohammed exhorting a congregation in Atlanta to kill whites without mercy or exception.
I had an opportunity to do some background research on this man. I am still reading. He died in 2001 "under mysterious circumstance", so say his followers. But one thing remains very problematic in the existence of this man. While he spent his adult life railing against white people, he spent most of the 1990's at least, dodging the bullets of black assassins who were determined to kill HIM. What an interesting and sad irony.
I tend to discount the conspiracy theories surrounding his sudden death in Houston in 2001. God don't like ugly, and this man was a walking poster child for ugly behavior. Thank God we still have the memory of Dr. King and the wisdom of Nelson Mandela to counterbalance people like Dr. Khallid. Black Pride needn't embrace Dr. Khallid's brand of self-destruction in order to be effective. We know better.

Hmmmm. Do I hear a deafing silence concerning anti-white racism? Where's the outrage about racism when it is against europeans and their descendants? A taste of hypocrisy?

i dont think its as much hypocrisy as it is a lack of dialogue....its easy to rant and rave about racism against black people because its more familiar to most people...but i agree the discussion of race should not be one-sided...hopefully soon we will reach that point to have a national discussion on race in the bahamas....i think as time is passing it is becoming (or has become) of the utmost importance..

Exactly!..........After living in the US,"in the southern eastern states as well as the northeastern states" I must say, racism is a multi-faceted affair! In the southeast, including much of Florida,we as blacks are subtley looked down upon,in the northern states,it seems most white folks doon have time for racism and it is up to the black folks that migrated north to display it against the white folks. Lord
I tell u it is gettin confusing! Then to top it off,we,"too many of us" look down upon da Haitians! Don't get me wrong! We have a real illegal immigration problem here, but the ting of it is,Haitians do the work we won't! Who needs dem?

I am outraged:realmad:  :sparky: :)
Seriously, I am no longer outraged by racism showed towards my race or anyone else's. Hatred and ignorance aren't worthy of my time and emotions. I do, however, disagree wholeheartedly with this man's racist tirade. I even disagree with some of Marcus Garvey's views that I've read. It's a real disappointment. Racism is a poison that must be eradicated if we expect to have true harmony in our world.

Hey Jaden, I like your spirit...seems that you were a strong Christian from a very early age, which is very good.. [also liked your previous avatar, a great smile in the sunshine]
I believe you no longer feel outraged by racism (like myself also) because its probably ingrained in your nature what St paul said, ie, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood......." I believe this business of racism would gradually die out over time as the older folks who plant that evil garbage into their children's heads pass on.
Sometimes I think many of us blacks are just as racist as the whites (not including you and me, LOL). I also believe the number of white Bahamians who are racists is very small.
One thing I noticed during my working years and the 30 something companies I worked for, I was treated much better when I worked under white managers/bosses than under black ones..

I have heard that said often. I have worked for both Black and White - I can't see much difference. If a guy is an SOB his SOB'ism has nothing to do with his race, that is just the way he is.

Hi, i agree wholeheartely, I work in the Berry islands with over fifty EXpats and only the the construction workers have a problem with working with the expats. the cay is own by filty rich white people but who cares. we are here to do a job and not to caught up in who is making more money than the other person. my point is do your job to the best of your ability what you are paid to do and when the job is done move on. that's my ten cents.

out on the west coast too...I tell you the white people out there are too damn cool...Its as if who has time for prejudice? (not saying that it doesnt exist) but the south just does something to your spirit...Funny thing is I think the white people in Cali sensed our reservations...and even though Im from The Bahamas and Ive met "good white folks" southern states just does something to you! this is why I could never see myself in the south for an extended period of time and I dont buy the hype of Atlanta!. I turned a new leaf on my trip...Man its too much money to be made out here...I dont want to have time for the foolishness!

that just goes to the time Prophet Garvey lived in...black people saw and felt the bitterness everday---not the insititionalized form today.
Have you picked up this book? I reccommend it to all.

florida has always been...multi-race...
large, large ethnic communities make florida slightly different to other southern states...
i was in texas recently and had a couple of racist experiences...
a white woman moving her trolley and purse...cringing and cowering as we were checking the prices of nuts in whole foods...
and a clerk in a cigarette store remarking that niggers so far from home shouldn't be so picky about their cigarettes...
lol....
