The recent strike with ZNS TV 13 Freeport just shows how ridiculously vulnerable the industry in the Bahamas is , as if there was an industrry, we only hae two networks. The peole of New Providence may not have been affected or even cared, but the news night 13 did not shown on Monday. Instead I ended up watching Sparks at 6:30. All of this over one employee. The northern Bahamas only got to see what happened in the capital. Good ole reliable ZNS where the "only the sun covers the Bahamas better!" I've had it up to here with late starts and then to top it of with labour unrest. the private sector has already dominated radio we should do the same with television. At least more local stations should be made. It might be a little more expensive than radio but i think the benifits will outdue the expenses if its a good station. Bahamian television must expand. It is the key to expanding modern Bahamian culture. At least there would be something much better to watch than imported outdated television on ZNS and biased newscasts.
I thought earlier in the term Mr. Christe said that there were two liscenses granted to operate television stations. What happened to them.
