When was the last time, you and/or your church, went on a mission to help people in the community?

When was the last time, you and your church, went out and donated time to the shelter, or to the ill stricken?

I have not been seeing the type of out-reach in the church the way I liked it. It is about time the church stepped out side their walls, and really get into it deep full force.

I have walked the streets of Nassau, and some of the family islands and am shocked to see that in this little town, old ladies and men go on living alone in their homes. To see people hungry, while the church and church members sit and wait for them to come begging for help. No. The church needs to find the energy again, and get out more.

Mt. Tabor had a nice programme about a year ago, when they went door to door in pinewood and made and assessment of people, and gave help...real help. The Catholic Church has been "ok", but not any where near the way they need to be as we know the Catholics are. We know you help when people come, we know this....but you need to get outside and go, be visible walk in groups and get the people up and out.

I have never had a church mission, aside from the Jehovah Witness, come to my door and ask me a darn thing. That's bad, and we need to ask the church to get out of the halls, and get out into the streets and be visible doing it.
