Why do Bahamian women despise other women of the Caribbean?
In my daily communication with married and single men, young and the not so young, I have often heard stories of caribbean women and the way they take such good care of their men. In particular, I heard that the ladies of the caribbean seek out Bahamian men as good men, and desire to develop relationships with them.
Let me give examples of which I speak. This is a true life account, not personal but true.
I have this friend, who last year he and a few buddies went down to Montigo Bay Jamaica, on a guys only trip. Mind you, he has a very action packed and opinionated Bahamian women waiting for his return, in a complex chess-game like relationship. Anyway, he described the island's beaches as beautiful but he especially liked the women he met there. He met this one particular lady that he felt he made a connection with while he was there. He described her as a classy but sassy island gal. So he decided to stay in touch.
Three weeks after conversing long distance on the phones, they decided that they would get together over here in Nassau. So the "Caribbean gal" came over and my friend showed her the island of Nassau. (all the native hangouts and the fries) He explains that in this week, she cooked for him every nite, cleaned all his dirty laundry, pressed all his clothes, and kept his house sparkling and spotless.
After a full week as a tourist, she when back to Jamaica. A week past and that's when my friend possibly made a grave mistake. He and the "Caribbean gal" decided to take their relationship to the next level. She had become his full time girlfriend and moved here to Nassau. She continued in her usual routine of daily cooking and cleaning, saying that he could smell his food ready when he reached the front door. Upon getting his new relationship started he decided to take his new found lady home to meet his mother and the rest of the family.(3 sisters)
They were all happy to here that he had a new women in his life, but all that changed when he brought here home for his mother to see. He said just upon how his mother and sister looked at his new lady, he could tell that they disliked her. So he decided to cut the dinner short by saying a emergency had came up to avoid the tension he was feeling.
The next day he said that his mother called him ranting and raving about his new girlfriend, making the "Caribbean gal" feel not wanted as was the case, and none of his sisters none the better.
As the next day came, he says his ex-girl friend/his baby mama came round to he door talking and caring all "lovey dovy" right in front of he "island gal". When he tried to stopped her advances, she start to get out of hand an called the island gal all type foul names. So he took his exgirlfriend out side and tried to calm her down. Eventually he did, and gave his ex girl a ride home after she made up some story about their little boy being sick. When they get there, she tell him the little boy was taken to the clinic by his aunty, and would soon be back. He being so naive, he stayed there waiting for the boy to get home to see if he was really sick. She took him up some soup, placed it in front of him, and watched him eat it all.
He said he fell asleep on the couch and was out for a while. The evening came when he woke up and still no sign of the little boy, so he say he when home. When he get home, he didn't eat anything as he was already full. The island gal tried to instigate some "loving" but he couldn't preform.........
