BEIJING, China (AP) -- The myth about China's Great Wall has come tumbling down, thanks to the nation's first man in space.
Is the world still flat???
Belief (even religious belief) is 1 thing and fact is another. You can’t make laws that restrict a persons rights no matter how many people believe something. You need fact.

Yk2bad, just to go back to your original post on this thread, you mention the word "religion." What do you mean by that word? Is religion exclusively Christianity in your mind? Do you hold out the possibility that other religions have a validity too?
Vicky 03-29-04, - 05:16 PM Vicky you and I have no issues, Are you sure you have no issue with me?? I am transgendered and not in denial. I live my life enfem as best I can. so be it if the big bang was GOD my point only was that he exist. Secondly I agree not even the men who I believe were inspired by God and wrote the Holy Scriptures knew all of his mysteries or understood him; after all they were just men like you and I. Note also that most of these men reach points where they question his instructions or acts. However this does not nullify the fact that what they wrote is believe by millions around the world as the inspired word of GOD.
Just because people belive something it does not make it a fact.

of course cg...all the religions that follow the God of adam and Moses have a disticnt bias in my reasoning.
Alien 04-16-04, - 04:14 PM and to baboon..titled so adequatly :shaky:
you can not deny the influence of religion on the society, and further more you are going on into a debate on which there is no direction for the topic.
and as cg said..stick to the main point.
but if you want to know...."God is all things, good and bad, and things that are bad are not things that are to him, he does things to his pleasure, and riteousness..not to our standards"
what we think is bad, is ok to God....
once again you can not deny the influence of religion, and Gods part in it.
and to say that from the begining, that all religious leaders have tried to hold a hypnotic type trance over individuals to enslave them in their belief is total rubish
if you beleive that , then you must beleive that the united states was awre of the 9-11 attacks before hand.
total rubish...and it is debunked!
yes, few have perverted the means to achieve their own personal goals, but to infer that that was its sole purpose is laughable...and i am sorry for you and anyone else who feels that way!

bsmbahamas 11-23-04, - 02:46 PM Why do I even bother? Because I care.
Who do you non beleivers pray to when you are in trouble?
Which God do you beleive in and do you follow all of his rules,
or do you take snippets from many religions?
Romans 1
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
According to my God, the one spoken of in the Holy Bible, homosexuality is wrong. Doesn't mean that you can't be a homosexual, nobody is perfect and the bible never said that man was perfect.
Only Jesus was perfect, and he was God in the flesh. Satanists cannot confess that Jesus is God and was born of a virgin, lived in the flesh, died and resurrected and is now seated at the right hand of God the father. Satan would physically destroy if they did.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of how the earth was formed and what will happen in the future. Some would rather argue until they find out that the bible is not factual and not from God. So be it.
Christians will continue to share the gospel all the same, however we are not allowed to force anyone to do anything - you all have freewill, imagination, conscience and self awareness - this makes us unique from every other creature.
I firmly beleive that something caused the big bang, and that something is guiding evolution. Proof of a big bang or evolution does not disprove that it was initiated by some powerful force.
You can reject this but it certainly seems plausible ...

islandgyal 11-23-04, - 03:25 PM Dear Rev. Munroe,
Thank you for reminding us to obey God's Law. I have
learned a great deal from you and understand why you
support a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex
marriage. As you said, "In the eyes of God marriage is
based between a man a woman."
I try to share your knowledge with as many people as I
can. When someone tries to defend homosexual
relationships, I simply remind them that Leviticus
18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of
debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding
some other elements of God's Law and how to follow
them.
Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both
male and female, provided they are purchased from
neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this
applies to Haitians, but not Canadians. Can you
clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2 I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as
sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what
do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman
while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness -
Lev. 15:19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have
tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, it
creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The
problem is with my neighbors. They claim the odor is
not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the
Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put
to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself,
or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating
shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a
lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree.
Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of
abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar
of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit
that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be
20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed,
including the hair around their temples, even though
this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should
they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a
dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play
football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by
planting two different crops in the same field, as
does his wife by wearing garments made of two
different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He
also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really
necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the
whole neighborhood together to stone them? Lev.
24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a
private family affair, like we do with people who
sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
11. I would like to take on a second wife and maybe a
few concubines, if I can scrape enough money together.
Are you proposing an amendment to ban compulsory
monogamy?
I know you have studied these things extensively and
thus possess considerable expertise in such matters,
so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for
reminding us that God's word is eternal and
unchanging, and that our constitution and laws ought
to enforce it.
Sincerely,
Joe Christian-Bahamian
PS: Do you know where I can get a used Haitian cheap?
(Lev. 25:44)
