Doesnt work. The year we had the last set of hangings, the murder rate that year and after were at it's highest.

thats because hangings are not carried out constanty. i remember when thomas reckley was hung we didnt had a murder for almost 6 months and nassau didnt had any robberies for nearly a month. this island was peaceful for that moment. it goes to show if a least 3 murderers are hung a year and corporal punishment is carried out that would send a strong message to the rest of the criminals out there. its all about being on top of your game.

Wrong. Hnagings in the southern U.S., have been going on and the murder rate is enourmous. N.Y has decreased it's violent crime, and they have abolished hangings.

Wrong. It gets rid of that "possible" killer, and it does not decrease the level of crime or activity in other killers.

thats the problem. just because something doesnt work in the US doesnt mean that it wont work in the bahamas. its these lawyers over here that is preventing it from happening. they delay trails for a long time, they waste the privy councils time with all these appeals, they give these murderers bail etc. what does that send to these criminals? thats why crime and murder is high in this country.
if these magistrates begin to get serious and stop these lawyers from preventing justice from happening, hold court cases within a reasonable time frame these criminals will see that these justices aint playing. its about sending fear to the criminal elements. and popping necks scare the hell out of these murderers!

Wrong. The last years we had hangings, the murder rate went up in this town and went up even more the following year. It has proven to not work here not there.

Ahh but it does work ... since they stopped hangings, the crime rate skyrocketed, also, remember that fellow that killed the 2 tourists in Bimini, he was clear when he said as far as he know they aint killing no one no more, that he knew he would only goto prison .. Hmmmm .. buddy it does work.

i say hang em, it's better than what we do with them now: feed, clothe, and house them for the rest of their lives. actually i would like to see a system where the convicted performed back breaking manual labour and any monies earned would go toward the victim's family.

but alas, i dont see that happening soooo....let the hangings begin
