View Full Version : Protest Tomorrow
lynette 05-22-07, - 01:19 PM Did you guys hear the rumor that some group is going to be downtown tomorrow to protest at the opening of the House.
Some are saying that the PLP's (without their leaders backing) are the ones who are going to be in their t-shirts and protesting. Saying that they are not going to allow the house to open until the election courts prove that they are the winners.
The police are on alert:shhh: yall aint hear that part from me.
I know that the threat is real but I refuse to beleive that the PLP are behind it. That would be just foolish. The leaders and MP's from the PLP are going to be involved in the opening of the House. They are members of the house and sitting in the house. For them to have to tell supporters at the opening to turn around and go home would show a disjointed and disorginized party and I know that is not the image they want to project. So it cant be the PLP who are doing this

I hope it just a rumor!
Mind you, if it rains tomorrow they will not come out to riot! You know how we dont like rain! :)
chancellor 05-22-07, - 01:26 PM I tell you that if they don't keep their followers at bay...the PLP will never rise again....who do they think they are? Don't get me started!
Alien 05-22-07, - 01:29 PM Lynette you heard wrong. In fact, FNMs will be downtown too. Fact is, PLPs have been asked to come out in "support" just as it would be at any other time.
Be careful of what you hear and how you carry it.

I would know and we should all be careful of how the truth is represented.
There is no need to whip up fear and false propaganda, in order to excite people over nothing.
PLPs will be downtown in SUPPORT of the PLP. There is NO protest in that.

I ga take u at ya word on this one for the fact that we are allowing politics to set a dangerous precedence in the country. Political polarization is being used by leaders to further divide ppl in a negative way. Well most division is negative but it is just a scary scary precedence that can perpetuate unnecessary violence and stuff. I can't say that I remember it ever being reported that party supporters are encouraged to attend the opening of parliament, then again I have never personally witnessed it so............

This is why I ask effin em's to please, act with some decency towards your brothers and sisters. I do not even have to explain how salty the rhetoric STILL IS after they have won.
This can turn real ugly, and ugly over nothing as at the end of the day, those people who battle in parliament are professionals; they have voided their feelings directly from the issues, in order to act in a clear and concerted manner. It is we, well some of you, who get all excited and take political gangsterism to another level.
There is one thing to dis-agree, but there is another to taunt and run on with muckery that serves your brothers and sisters no justice.

Listen man, I can only carry it the way I see it. If the police are saying this OFFICIALLY in their circle and are preparing for riots, and are putting extra people on duty, hundreds of extra people, then they mussy hear something that have them concerned right?
I aint trying to incite nothing. I am just asking if anyone heard this. Im not trying to discourage anyone from supporting their party. I just am concerned. I work in law enforcement, and I love my country, I dont want to see nothing happen to put my life in jeopardy and sully the reputation of my country.

I will just say again that I am not trying to whip nothing up. The police are on 'alert'. I am asking what is being said out on the streets. Someone may have some insight that may help the police get to the bottom of this mess and perhaps nothing would happen tomorrow.

I wonder who in the world does the FNM have paid to start these false and horrible rumours.
My flippin goodness. I falkin hate this..hear!
They are always downtown at the opening of parliament. They always prepare. However, to say that there is an exact cause of a rumour that there will be a protest PLANNED by the PLP is a lie.
The police will do what they do all the time. We hope and we hope and pray, effin em's do not get out of hand, because they are prone to do so.

Me either. I want this to remain calm and decent, and want both sides to not start nothing. But to suggest that the PLP plans to start violence is mis-leading and is a tainted lie for who-ever has started it.
You should moderate how you speak on your opinions a little more carefully.

Dang...I thought only the FNM does do them things...I remember they boycotted both the opening of the House and the naming of the airport.

They had better be on alert, as they are usually on opening of parliament. Your thread however, taints a most troubling manner and to suggest that the PLP plans to protest, and for it to get violent is wrong and a horrible lie.
These effin ems have tainted your mind. I am more worried about the rabid, loose FNM supporters throwing jeers and starting up mischeif.
PLPs are too old and too lazy to start a violent protest. It is not PLP nature to start a fight, or be uncivil. So quit leading in with stuff that has not merrit.
BahamaWave 05-22-07, - 01:58 PM we need to bring back PC and the PLP. then everything will be fine once again.
