wait, wait, wait.
Artists want to unionize? Why? Aren't artists supposed to be liberal thinking? What good could a union do for an artist? Artists don't have a regular 'employer' for the union to fight. Artists don't have 'employees' such that unionization would be necessary. Most artists don't even carry a salary for dues to come out of. :dgi:

If an artist is good, their work will sell. If an artist sucks, then it won't sell. Why do we need a union? To force the acceptance of mediocrity?

Am I missing something or is this concept totally dumb?! Someone help me understand the value of this discussion please!

the result of the discussion may be that a union is a bad idea...
note the question mark in the title of the thread...
but what is more important is developing a sense of community amongst artists...

I went and saw the show today and I was disquested.

The only true Bahamian art (not copied from American artists) was the collections borrowed fron Dawn Davis and Vincent D'Agular.

Walking in and seeing a display of the hubcap guy with a tv screen underneath showing his route from a different perspective just showed the ignorance of most local artists. I give the show an F
