I was watching the opening of the house the other day and just thought how is it possible that anyone could walk past the house on any given day. In other countries, you are lucky if you get within 20 feet close to a building such as this. Is this safe for our leaders?

Its unlikely that they would permanently re-locate the house sessions into another building. Parliament House is an official historical site, and its British Colonial charm is a popular tourist attraction. If there is an issue of security, then they would probably place more guards around the perimeter of the house, especially during sessions.

I concur 100%.

On a side note I do think its wrong for tourists to be sitting on the cannons and taking pictures with cops right there. If I sit on one of them and decide to take a photo, the same cop would snatch me and bruise the daylights out of me.

No one wants to bomb the Bahamas - Parliament should stay right where it is. The port, now that is a different story.

we do need a new parliament building and use the current building as a political museum of some sorts. we need a much bigger and more modern building out west at clifton overlooking the sea. moving to a new location will free up alot of traffic on bay street.

Yes, now that the FNM is there in greater numbers, they should be seated on the right hand of the father.

You all does slay me! Where was your concern for the MP's before may 2?

You do realize that no one mentioned the FNM in each post before yours right. Read carefully, the OP said that it came to them while watching the opening of the house. Therefore, the thought may never had a chance to come to them until now.

so many of us think this can't happen here, that is a big mistake.
we need to make our parliament safe no matter what.we are living in a brand new world, things as change.more American visited The Bahamas than any other destination in this region.we must protect what we have at all cost.
