Well perhaps not fired, but definately asked to gently resign. And why not? The Govenor General position is only a figure head acting on the whim of the Prime Minister; having no objections, no opinions, just a political tool to be moved and positioned on this political chess board to enhance whatever government he serves. We see the PLP quickly moved Dame Ivy to propagate their objectives, and we shall shortly see this newly Ingraham administration do the same, with perhaps A.D. being the shortest reigning Govenor General in the history of the Bahamas. Its just their way. Its the accepted way.

We already see AD Hanna "conveniently drifted" off on a luxury vacation making it possible for his newly appointed assistant to push down the throat 2 senators that the opposition did not want. But who cares what the opposition wants? Perhaps right now, The Bahamas would be a better oiled machine if it had no opposition. Definately the PLP has proven themselves to be inept in goverance, perhaps they will be the same as an opposition, consequently proven that democratic rights should be taken away. Some would say that Ingraham doesn't give two hoots about what the opposition has to say; for the country needs to move forward, therefore quick, decisive thinking must be made, even at the detriment to democracy, better yet to the detriment to what may be best for the oppostion.

But who is responsible to defend democracy? Who is responsible to question the government ethics? Who is reponsible to cry shame when injustices are herald? Whose duty is it to be that sole voice that cries out and say "no, that's just wrong. I deserve better. I demand better."

Sadly, as we moved forward and onward to a better Bahamas, we shall see statemen who know better ignore what is just because it is politically expedient for them. We shall see men of the cloth remain silent in order to share within the bounty. We shall see common citizens who can clearly see what's wrong, but because their party is within the driver's seat, they remain mute, just to realise that the entire country was wrong because they said nothing.

So, as things continue, I wait patiently to see yet another Governor General retire early in order to receive pension from the public purse.

If you can recall under da PLP he only had 3 more months or so because Lady MP (dat greedy woman) was ga get he position--But on a serous note GG looks as if he does not want to be there--He looks lost all da time--I personally don't have a problem, him being there but then I am only one person.

I can understand the FNM wanting "their man" in the job but AH seems harmless enough in the job - a nice fellow too and a friend of HI.

.. If AD goes, that will be AD's decision.. but what HI did was made his choise for GG clear to all...

That is called leadership....

Is this site the official FNM mouthpiece? Every single post on this site is one sided and attacks on the PLP. There is no objectivity around here, even when it comes to a GG post.

No the official mouth piece of the FNM is freenationalmovement.org.

The site isnt one sided. Views posted are those of the members who are free to post their views in accordance to the site's rules. It as simple as there are more FNM supporters than PLP supporters (or so it seems).

I had the opportunity to sit face to face with the GG. Quite frankly I was appalled to think of this man entertaining heads of state. I agree he seems like a very nice man..maybe doting a little bit. But people are expected to bow and curtesy to this man who appears to be totally lacking in social graces! Maybe I'm wrong, but I expect that the governor should have good manners and act like a proper lady or gentleman. A crash course in manners would be very helpful to AD..not to mention that his housekeeping staff and butler should ensure that he wear CLEAN clothes when receiving guests!!

OMG! The GG is a nasty man?! I did hear rumurs that he used to "beg" females looking for jobs when he was a man of power.
