View Full Version : B.J. to replace Pratt as Deputy leader
Objective thought 05-29-07, - 11:14 PM I think that we all would agree that PC is not a strong leader, right?.
Well, I think that PC is a friendly and excellent person to be the leader of the PLP but he needs someone who can help/push him along the way.
I think that BJ would be an excellent person to assist him. If PC and Mother Pratt are elected by the deligates and the council approves PC and Mother Pratt to run as a team again whenever the next election is called they would most certainly lose that election.
PC's face is well known worldwide and persons already had a taste of what he can do but he was defeated for what he did not do especially when it came to discipline of his fellow MPs.
Seeing that BJ is a man of action and has probably but one more shot left at taking part in the leadership of any political party why not give him a shot..
Mother Pratt and PC were too much alike and it reminded me of when I was a child and wanted to tell someone something and try to get my friend to tell them and my friend and I would get caught up saying to each other repeatedly, "You tell um, no you tell um" because neither of us had the guts to say anything..
Well I think that BJ will without question say exactly what is needed to be said, plain and simple!! He has got the strength to help PC keep his MPs in line...

I certainly am. If the PLP kep recycling their used up politicians they are destined for destruction. The youth movement is upon us and the PLP should be the first to embrace it.

People thought the same thing when the FNM wanted to bring HI back but look what happened.. HI won!!!
If I can remember correctly God is in charge not you!!
Just like how he did it for HI he can do it for others so take it easy and give me reasonable reasons why this would be a good team or a bad one....

The FNM tried that and the people said Hell no!!
They wanted experience, not youth!!

What about those other guys who dissolved the CDR and joined the FNM I could say the same about them!!
One of the jobs of a leader of a party, or any endeavor for that matter, is to look around and find someone the leader can groom to take over, maybe even more that one person. We don't seem to do that here in politics. (Except Tommy T and that did not work out to well.) We wait for someone to come to the front.
"Great leaders are born great leaders" we like to think. But I believe that are not only born, but trained. I hope the two leaders are looking! That new leader should not be DP. He/she should be someone from the "ranks." Fresh blood!
Lurker 05-29-07, - 11:53 PM What the PLP need is a real ballbuster -- someone who een afraid to step on toes, force them to toe the line, and demand the best from them.
marvinrzgibson 05-29-07, - 11:59 PM It is time for the changing of the guard, Objective. Time for this tired generation to start putting away their chairs and folding their tents in preparation to leave the park. Their time is up and a new blood with vision is needed to revive the excitement of the park and take its development to the next level.
In other words Hubert, Perry, BJ and anyone in their genre needs to make preparation to exit the Bahamas political stage and make way for new fresh leadership which should be upon us as early as 2012. Don't try to resuscitate their dying breed. Let them go away in peace (or in pieces). Lend an ear to the input and advice rendering to them the courtesy that they deserve. Whatever you do, don't call them back to lead. Let them go!

who told you that?
im sure fnm's would contest that their situation is totally diff from your situation: your party is broken scandal clad and lacklustre at this time....and you have to thank noone but whose at the top--especially that bumbling simpleton potcake perry.

Yeh, but its gonna be a little tough resurrecting Sir Lynden at this stage! :)
Seriously though, BJ can ceratinly lead, but being close to 70 by the time the election comes around will be a difficult sell in 2012 as a first time leader in many respects.
