I think its time for the Sexual Offenses Act be re-revised. We complain that the man only got seven years for raping the 6 year old, however that is the law. The courts can only carry out the laws that are on the books. For a second offence the law only allows for 14 years. For sex with a relative you get 7 or 10 years. If two consenting gay adults get caught having sex in public they get 20 years. Although I am of the view that homosexuality is morally wrong, I don't think it should be on the law books as a crime, and worse, carrying such a heavy penalty... whereas one can rape a child and get nearly 1/3 less jail time. How could a violent crime get 3 times less punishment than a consensual sex act between two adults of the same gender? I think the law makers have their priorities messed up. We need to get with the times and fix the laws so they make sense.

Is law made by men. Please don't get me wrong but it is what it is. It saddens me to see this happening and rest assured that this will prevent a lot of people from even accusing their rapist/molesters of such acts.

It appears as though you are refferring to the law against 'buggery' i.e. anal intercourse or sodomy which is really targetted at gay men. That law is no longer on our books, and hasn't been since 1992. The similar offence which is prosecutable is what I term as public lewdness (not sure of the legal term here), which is basically public sex between persons of any gender.
