For me now is a perfect time, an exciting time to be PLP. The PLP has always demonstrated that it is the party that not only best represents the interest of the grassroots Bahamians, or the less fortunate Bahamian, but it is a party committed to the empowerment of all Bahamians," Mr. Moss said.

In all honesty this has always been the case, the PLP has always had more of a vision for the common man than the FNM, who are generally backed by many of the elitests in the Bahamas.

It's one thing to claim that they are for the common man. But where is the evidence to support this claim?

what he meant to say was the PLP was always the party that promoted being poor as if its a bage of honour....their idea is to keep the man poor and uneducated thus blinded by political propaganda and rhetoric...

When I look at the core principles of each party and I analyse who has had more success at converting their principles into action and progress...the FNM wins hands down.

The core principles of the FNM, to me, seem to be strong work ethics, transparent governance and strengthening the basic services (i.e. education, health care and infrastructure) from which a strong nation can be emerge. Every policy or action they implement is based on their principles and you can see the fruit of their labor. The result of their hard work benefit ALL Bahamians...rich and poor...black and white.

Conversely, the PLP's sole core principles (as they claim it to be) are to empower and uplift the "small" man...the grassroots. But this has not matured into reality. It was a reality in the 70’s and a small part of the 80’s but it was not a reality in the last term. The reality is that urban renewal was a failure and their "anchor" projects gave away Bahamian land to foreigners…where is the empowerment?

I identify with the FNM's core principles that benefit ALL. :bahamas:

The PLP is for the common man. Lets analyse this statment shall we.

Fact- The Bahamas is made up of more commom men than elitist (common men tend to breed more frequently than elitist). The elitist may have more money but come election time the common man has the power.

Fact- The PLP had five solid years to show their love for the common man. prior to that they had 25 yrs to show their love for the common man.

Fact- after 25 yrs of stink treatment THE COMMON MAN rejected the PLP

Fact- the PLP got another chance from the common man and they proved that they are still the same people the common man rejected in 1992

Fact- the straw vendors are the comman man and NOTHING was done for them. the sea hualer victims are the common man and NOTHING was donde for them. last time i rolled through the ghetto's still look the same, except for some urban renewal buidling full of INEFFECTIVE PLP appointes.

THE REASON WHY THE PLP LOST IS BECUASE THE COMMON MAN CANT SEE WHAT THEY DOIN FOR THEM.

Lastly its funny that the PLP would accuse the FNM of being full of rich elitist when if u exlude the FNM dude with 50 some odd million dollars. THE PLP was the richest people on the declarations line up. Hubert Ingraham was amoung the poorer one on the millionairs list.

well if it aint the pot callin the kettle black
