Like Rory, I used to have a running account of what I spent daily. But , oh the heartache to see my money going.

I guess this was not budgeting but accounting for expenditures. I know that I need to budget and living abroad with a child for two years...on a limited budget .......made me aware of what I needed to spend. For the first time in my life, I was responsible for all expenses...housing, transportation etc. Things were tight so I had to budget strictly. Bills were paid first and then all else came afterwards.

The thing I hate most is that I find that most of my money goes on necessities and not luxuries....living is expensive!

I hear you on that, I just spent $25 on things like toilet paper, paper towel, etc .. I mean yesterday i must have spent $10 on food the whole day, but end of the day, i was less $60! Man today i just said Arghhh ... spent only $3 on breakfast earlier on, and havent eaten all day since then (plus the food store didnt have anything really worth buying), so I just went and bought a darn pizza for $19!! Ha ha .. :)
