Poets and Writers Series: Christian Campbell
Christian Campbell, whose roots lie in the Southern Bahamas and Southern Trinidad, is a poet, cultural critic and journalist. He read for an MPhil in English at Balliol College, University of Oxford as the 2002 Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholar and completed a PhD at Duke University . He has presented and published his work widely in the Caribbean, the United States, Britain and Switzerland. His manuscript, Running the Dusk, was named runner-up finalist for the 2005 Cave Canem Poetry Prize by Sonia Sanchez, and his poem, “A Federation of Wings,” was recently nominated for the Forward Poetry Prize for the Best Single Poem published in Britain.
